Congratulations to Albert Monsour for receiving the prestigious Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers! During the 30 years I’ve had the privilege of knowing Albert, he’s devoted his time and energy to giving back to the community. He was instrumental in getting St. Elias Cathedral built in the late 80’s and helped raise $1,000,000 for the Dewaan Foundation, which gives to local charities. It’s wonderful to see his efforts being recognized by Rideau Hall.

Farming is a demanding and stressful business that runs 24/7. Despite applying the latest technology & sound business principles, farmers are always at the mercy of Mother Nature. The COVID pandemic has significantly taken a toll on an already arduous field. Join me in thanking all farmer workers for putting food on our tableslike Francis Bassilewhose family farm, Green Acres in Greenly, grows about 800 acres of vegetables.

Will the Ethics Commissioner have time to investigate another Minister? Catherine McKenna. He’s already got the Trudeau and Morneau WE scandal to deal with. When McKenna was the Minister of the Environment, she had 8 contracts issued at $24,558 each, to a single company (friends and family policy?) to avoid the procurement process. The threshold was $25,000. Now she is in charge of TENS of BILLIONS of DOLLARS, in infrastructure programs & cannot account for billions of dollars of spending, nor provide a list?
