VSDR COVID-19 update: Victim Services of Durham Region will continue to support all victims in the Region of Durham during this time. We will continue to support our clients and communicate with clients and partners on the phone and email. Direct contact with all clients will be extremely limited to emergency situations only. As we are all staying home more, the people who for home is not a safe place, and the most vulnerable among us, are impacted the most. We are thinking of you all- we are here to support you. Reach out to us at (905) 721-4226.
Today is international human rights day. Today and every day, we advocate for the needs and rights of our clients. We believe everybody deserves the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. Everyone is entitled to these rights, without discrimination.

The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the economic and social vulnerability of the clients we serve, and has created additional challenges with service delivery. While we strive to provide the best service to our clients despite multiple challenges faced during this difficult time, we acknowledge that the generosity of organizations such as RxBIO plays such an important role in helping those most in need. The success of our work is often driven by strong community partnerships that enhance our capacity to offer services. We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to @RxBioC for their donation of Personal Protective Equipment and thank you for your support and acknowledgement of the work we do.
With the support and donations from the Domestic Violence Unit, Durham Regional Police Service membership and Victim Services of Durham Region, D/Cst Daugharty organized an initiative to collect and equip over 50 purses with basic necessities which are available to be given to domestic violence victims in need. Victim Services is grateful to be apart of this initiative and to offer this support to those fleeing violence.
