Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute 28.10.2020

We've wrapped up a fantastic 2 weeks of the Virtual VSO Institute! One of many highlights was a masterclass with violin superstar James Ehnes. Congratulations to our performers and thanks to James for inspiration that truly extended around the globe! Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

As the Virtual VSOI 2020 is in full swing, we invite our current students and ALL VSOI Alumni from over the years to participate in the VSOI Global Orchestra! Send us a video recording of a performance of your choice, filmed in a meaningful, safe location in your home town or city. Send greetings from wherever you are along with up to 3 minutes of your beautiful playing! Repertoire and creative elements of your videos are fully up to you. Just be sure to introduce yourself at... some point (name and where you are). Videos will be combined to create our VSOI Global Orchestra, a video presentation that celebrates our students and faculty, past and present, who are keeping the music playing in all corners of the globe during these challenging times! Videos should be uploaded to Dropbox no later than July 31. Check your email for the file request link!

Up and at 'em this morning with Yoga for Musicians. Thanks to Kimberly Hankins - The Aligned Musician for a relaxing and rejuvenating practice. Taking care of ourselves and making time for wellness is so very important!

The Virtual VSOI is in full swing for the next 2 weeks with masterclasses and webinars, virtual chamber music, and special guest artist James Ehnes! Our students this year represent Canada, Australia, Kazakhstan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As much as we wish to be together here in Vancouver, we are keeping the music playing virtually with our fantastic Vancouver Symphony Orchestra faculty members and Maestro Otto Tausk. #VSOI2020 We are thankful for the continued support of Stingray Music.
