One more Christmas food tradition-Lefse from Norway. Florence Sokvitne, her niece Colleen, and great-niece Sandra usually made lefse early in the Christmas season, as no Norwegian Christmas was complete without it. https://www.youtube.com/watch

This is a little late but better late than never. Dec. 6 is St. Nicholas or Sinterklaas Eve in the Netherlands. Trina Wickstrom's parents immigrated from the Netherlands and brought the traditions of celebrating Sinterklaas Eve here. Hear her story. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Okay FB friends we are looking for the name of the object on the left side of the picture- It was sort of a traffic director- Marj Webber had a name for it and we can't remember what she called it. Does anyone out there have any idea?

We are working on a very cool free app called https://www.facebook.com/onthisspot/ This app will take you on a walking tour of Vulcan. It will include at least 50 photos- now and then, along with the history. Here is a little teaser of the type of photos that will you find on this app. The first picture is of the tornado of 1927 taken on main street. The second photo is taken from the same spot (Hence the "On this spot") in August.

This week is EMS week. So thankful to have access to a great team of EMS folks. Our EMS department came from humble beginnings- people who volunteered their time for 7 days at a stretch! Great community builders. Check out their story.
