If they went to the trouble of tracking down the address of the BitTorrent user, you would suspect that they could get the name of the person who owned the internet account. It strikes me as odd that they cannot. If you get one of these letters your defence options might be pretty limited in any case. I do not believe that ocean-based fish farming should be allowed in Nova Scotia. I am not a fan of this sort of fish farming to begin with but that, normally, would not be enough to bring me out against something. I understand that we need the economic stimulis and that industries I do not like will be part of the economic landscape. However, in this case I feel strongly that we are subsidizing an industry by (a) providing them with the use of an asset we all own (i.e. the... ocean) and (b) allocating too high an environmental risk to the public. Fish farms should be on land where the environmental risks are taken by the company managing the farm and the extra costs of the enterprise are not covered by a waterway that is owned by all of us. We do not need farmed fish or the few jobs they create more than we need to protect the environment and no matter how low the risk, there is no need for us to accept it. See more
