Folks in this community have geared up to help out. We'd like to thank the Ukrainian Catholic ladies for their $100 donation, and the Wadena Fire Department, which held a "Stuff the Fire Truck" event to collect toys and gifts. The Red Apple store is donating 10% of its toy sales. And then there are the donations from private individuals. These add up and are needed and appreciated. We can't thank you enough. We couldn't do it without you.

It's all been weighed and counted up ... 488 pounds of groceries collected by the Red Apple's food drive in Wadena!
The Red Apple in Wadena has been a huge supporter of the Wadena Food Bank since Day One. Rachel Hilbig, left, picked up the donations from the store's most rece...nt food drive. We'd like to thank store manager Colleen Zazula and her staff for their efforts, and extend that same gratitude to the store's customers for their generosity. We couldn't do it without you! See more

Until further notice, on distribution nights we ask those picking up food to wait outside. The bags will be placed on the table outside the door. Please practise "social distancing" while waiting. Thank you and keep well!
We don't have bags or boxes; you need to bring your own. There are reusable grocery bags available for sale for $1 each.
Just to be clear, there is no level of wealth you need to prove in order to access the Food Bank. Anyone can come in, once per calendar month, and get three to ...five days’ worth of food for themselves and anyone in their household. All you need to bring in is a piece of ID for you and the members of your household. If you are sick and have lost wages, or waiting for EI to kick in, or payroll had been delayed, or just need a little help to get through a tough time that is what we are here for. Please do not feel like this service is not for you, it is for anyone who needs it, whenever they need it. #communityhelpingcommunity
