Art in Bloom at the Winnipeg Art Gallery 16.11.2020

Dear Art in Bloom Committee, Interpreters, and Community, Talk about spreading magnificent blooms !!! Rest assured, through your gift of flowers, the joy experienced by all at Art in Bloom was passed onto many others. Through the generosity of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Petals West, and the AIB artist interpreters, the donated flowers were delivered to a very long list, where the delighted oohs and aahs were audible. The exciting add-on with such a large number of flowers is o...ne vase can easily become ten or more. For example, CancerCare Manitoba reported, Just wanted to let you know that we were able to put together 14 small bouquets from the Art in Bloom Flowers. CancerCare looks much more spring-like this morning thanks to Floral Philanthropy! Close to 25 Floral Philanthropy Volunteers delivered flowers to : West Park Manor, Tuxedo Villa, Shaftsbury, Portsmouth, Poseidon Long Term, Villa Rosa, Rosewood (Stonewall), Bethel Place, Rady, Malvern House, Thorvaldsen, Golden Gate Personal Care Home, Oakview Extendicare, Children’s Hospital, Naomi House, Project Neecheewan, Calvary Place, R.B. Russell School, St. Mary’s Academy, Willow Place, Charleswood Library, Dieppe School, Charleswood Firehall, Oak Table, Winnipeg Humane Society, Seven Oaks Hospital, Pembina Place Mennonite Home, Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, Riverview Health Centre, Victoria Hospital, Misericordia Place, Garden Manor Care Home, United Church Halfway House, House of Peace, St. Mary’s the Protectress Villa, a very happy children’s pre-school and innumerable shut-ins and friends of volunteers who needed a petal pick-me-up. On a snowy Monday morning thanks to eight incredible volunteers, a Winnipeg Harvest truck and driver and sheer determination to push on against blustery winds, the gorgeous panels were delivered to Outlet Collection Winnipeg and St. Vital Centre. St. Vital Centre also received the roses with open arms and happy smiles. The display they set up is worth your viewing: "1000s of flowers, used to interpret artwork from the Winnipeg Art Gallery collection, were viewed by 1000s of people at its Art in Bloom event, April 11-14, 2019. Thanks to the participation of St. Vital Centre and WAG's gift of flowers, Floral Philanthropy is ensuring this beautiful display is seen by 1000s more." Floral Philanthropy operates year-round in partnership with Winnipeg Harvest, delivering donated flowers and securing financial support for the food bank. You will be delighted to know that the roses were transported to the St. Vital Centre in an open-back truck - much to the thrill of many drivers and passengers along the way. Know that your wonderful event and flowers brightened many spirits. A sincere thank you, The Floral Philanthropy team
