A little 2-step ditty for you this morning.

Whenever possible, turn objects you find along your dog walk like an agility course. You can even teach you dog to do flips, scale walls, and other cool parkour moves. Doing so does more than burn energy, it builds bond and confidence too!

This is an important point. I have had a couple clients let their dogs jump all over me on our second appointment, as they exclaim that the training isn’t working. You can’t allow your dog to practice that behaviour, you must use management tools until your obedience training is good enough to fall back on. Soon, you will just tell your dog to lie down and open your door for your guest. But, until your dog is trained, you need to use your leash (at least), you need to stop putting your dog in situations they can’t handle, and you need to stop allowing them to jump all over people!
