If you encounter a charged hose line across a roadway in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, consider the road closed and DO NOT, drive over it. Not only does this damage very #expensive equipment, but it also endangers the lives of our #firefighters. #commitment #teamwork #community
Some great songs and some great dancing! If you installed your alarms when these songs came out, it is time to replace them.
Carbon Monoxide is an invisible, odourless gas produced by fossil fuel appliances AKA the Silent Killer. CO symptoms mimic those of the flu. Have your appliance...s checked by a professional. Check CO alarms monthly. Let's stay Carbon Monoxide safe!! #neverthinkitcanthappentoyou City of Port Colborne See more
Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services wishes you all a very Happy New Year! We hope that your 2021 is as amazing as you are! Cheers
Merry Christmas to the wonderful residents of Wainfleet and beyond!
I'd like to thank everyone in the community who supported and donated to the Wainfleet Firefighters Association annual food basket program. Each family in need... received a basket of food gift card smoke alarms, masks, and everything for a Christmas dinner. Without everyone's support this couldn't be accomplished. Ben Bergs for being a drop off center Stephanie Best for assisting with the toy drive. Wainfleet Fire for donating smoke alarms and masks All the Association members that organized and delivered the baskets.
Wainfleet Township has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified firms for the Architectural Design, Engineering and Contract Administration for the Central Fire Station project. https://www.wainfleet.ca/en/town-hall/tenders-and-rfps.aspx
You could receive a test #emergency alert message on your phone today! Find out when you could receive one and what to do when you receive it: https://www.alert...ready.ca/ #AlertReady If you receive the test emergency alert, please do not call 911. This service is a life-saving tool that should only be used for emergencies and is not an appropriate venue for complaints about the Alert Ready system.
Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services is an active member of the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association (OMFPOA), Niagara Chapter. Here is a holiday message from the OMFPOA Niagara for you this holiday season. Please keep you and your family safe always, but especially this holiday season. #besafe #firesafetystartswithyou #happyholidays Wishing you and yours all the best this holiday season!
To my Firefighter Brothers in Wainfleet and the friends of our community. Along with a generous donation of toys for our Family Christmas Baskets, a very close ...friend of mine has gifted our Volunteer Firefighters Association with a T-shirt she purchased in April of 2002 during a trip to NYC and Ground Zero. This is 7 months after the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Centre. A T-shirt in memory of the ten (10) men who lost their lives from Battalion 8, Engine 8 and Ladder 2 from mid Manhattan who responded that day...never to come home. Robyn has asked me if we could properly display this item (in our hall) as a reminder of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on that tragic day. I responded in saying yes...we would display this in honour of these 10 men and the collective group of first responders who perished. I also did a little research and found an artist rendition of the ten men who perished from this hall. At this time I can't place a name with a face but I will do my best to complete this task...I'm taken back by the young faces and the "young ages" of these firefighters. There aren't any words to describe. Robyn...a heartfelt thank you from all of us at Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services and our Association for the gift and we will display and give it the honour it deserves.
A Christmas shout out to these two fine gentlemen. On behalf of the Wainfleet Volunteer Firefighters Association, we wish Chief Morgan Alcock and Deputy Chief S...hawn Schutten and your families nothing but the very best during the Holiday Season...Merry Christmas! Stay Safe and Stay Healthy...hope Santa is good to both of you! See more
A fantastic showing of community support today for our Christmas Food and Toy Drop-off Program. To the community of Wainfleet and friends, a huge, heartfelt tha...nk you. To Stephanie Best, Ben Berg's Farm Equipment and Bree Proulx, you are Santa's Champion Elves for the toy donations. There will be many smiles on the faces of Wainfleet children come Christmas morning. To Conrad, Leanne, Mitch and Scott from our Association and fire department, thank you for the help to sort out the proceeds. Pick and pack this coming Friday and Load and Go on Saturday. The Christmas Spirit is with us. See more
To the community of Wainfleet and friends... 2020 has been a trying year for all of us during this pandemic. Our volunteer firefighters association has faced ma...ny challenges in our efforts to raise enough food and supplies for our annual Christmas basket campaign for families in our community who need it the most. Many of our fund raising activities have been cancelled or severely modified due to Covid-19. That being said, our executive and membership have been working hard to facilitate innovative ways to meet and offset the challenges that the pandemic has created. In a earlier post I mentioned that we were looking at three phases to combat these hurdles and I would like to share the last phase with everyone. Phase 1 was our Fish Fry on October 23rd which was a tremendous success. Phase 2 is our Turkey Raffle (draw) to be held on November 27th at 7:00pm. As a minimum we will post the 60 winners to social media but we are still engaged in trying to set up a virtual broadcast of this draw. I will keep everyone posted if this plays out. Phase 3 is the attachment below. We will be conducting a Food Drive on Saturday, December 12th. Due to Covid-19, this will be a drop off campaign only at the Firefighters Community Hall between the hours of 9am and 12pm. Pull up to the door on the west side (library side) of the community hall and a firefighter will meet you to collect. Any canned food product or non-perishable food item will be greatly appreciated. On our behalf, please share this post to as many people as possible. A heartfelt thanks from the Wainfleet Volunteer Firefighters Association and to all, a very Merry Christmas.
It was pretty windy Sunday night. Our first responders were staged and ready and responded without hesitation in these nasty conditions. Wainfleet can be proud of this amazing group of individuals who continue to step up and serve their community no matter what mother nature sends their way. #VideobyDaveJohnson
The last pager alarm for Chief Jack Suess. Thank you to St. Catharines Dispatch for sending the last alarm (with Wainfleet dispatch tones) and the Suess family... for sharing this. Turn up your volume and have a listen. A wonderful tribute to a special individual in the community of Wainfleet. "Rest easy Chief, we will take it from here"
In preparation for the forecasted storm, the Wainfleet Township will have a warming/reception centre available, for any persons needing to leave their properties, at the Friendship Room located at the Wainfleet Arena. 31943 Park St, Wainfleet. Niagara is currently under a Special Weather Statement as issued by Environment Canada, calling for strong winds gusting to 100+km/hr on Sunday. These very stro...ng southwesterly winds will increase water levels and waves along the entire Lake Erie shoreline. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is currently predicting water levels to increase above current levels on Lake Erie by 1.8m (5.9ft). Residents should pay close attention and are urged stay away from the shoreline during this event. Read more at buff.ly/2Gw3SCX
