COVID-19 Guidelines How we are keeping everyone safe while shopping at "The Wainfleet Christmas Vendor Market" While we are very excited to host our 1st annua...l Christmas Vendor Market, it is important that we stress that you follow the policies that are in place when visiting the market. We have put together a detailed plan with our committee, vendors and volunteers as our highest priority to follow the Niagara Region public health guidelines. All customers are being directed through a controlled access point located around the front of the pavilion to monitor the total customer counts within the pavilion. Maximum Capacity is 50 shoppers in the pavilion at one time. The volunteers will be there to hand you a door prize ballot (please bring your own pen) and will direct you to use the hand sanitizer dispenser before entering the pavilion. There will be a donation box at the entrance that you can leave your non-perishable food or new unwrapped toy to support the fire fighter’s association gift basket campaign. 1. Line-up We are asking all customers to form a line keeping a 6 ft distance between other shoppers while waiting to enter the market. 2. Signage and distancing decals are posted within the Market pavilion to encourage social distancing. 3. Mask up! Masks are mandatory when entering the pavilion. 4. There are directional arrows in the pavilion. Please pay attention to the flow of traffic, follow the arrows, and please do not cut across barriers or designated lineups at entrances. 5. Contactless payment is strongly encouraged, please note however, that many of our vendors are not equipped to accept electronic payment, please be sure to have cash on hand. ATM is available at the Meridian Credit Union 31885 Hwy #3 6. Hand sanitization stations will be stationed at the front entrance and at each of the vendor stations throughout the pavilion, so please wash your hands frequently. To have a safe & enjoyable Market experience, please do the following: 1. If possible, no more than 2 family members should shop at the Christmas Market. In addition, please do not bring your pets as they are not permitted on site. Only service animals are allowed on site. 2. Be purposeful and efficient with your shopping. Have a look at the vendor map and list online before you come to better plan your visit. 3. Please don’t linger and chat with friends. As cases rise again in the Province, we remind customers to limit socializing at the Christmas Market. 4. Best parking access for the Christmas Market in the baseball diamond parking lot. Please do not come to the Market if you: 1. Are feeling unwell or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. 2. Have been in close contact with anyone who has been sick or is currently sick, is being tested, or has been diagnosed with COVID 19. 3. Have travelled outside of the country within the last 2 weeks. Please be patient and respectful of all customers, vendors, and volunteers. We would like the market to continue for the entire 4 weeks so please be cognizant of the rules so we can all participate in the Christmas Market. We are trying our best to make it an enjoyable experience while following the guidelines from public health.

The leading cause of home fires today is unattended cooking. If you are cooking, stay in the kitchen. Stand by your pan. If you need to leave the room, turn off... the stove. As we wrap up Fire Prevention Week 2020, we want to remind you that fire prevention continues all year long. If you see a potential fire hazard, remove the hazard. If you cannot, call us and we will come and assist. Don't forget, only working smoke alarms can save lives. Check yours today. See more

If a pot of oil catches fire on the stove, turn off the stove and slide a lid across the top of the pot to cover it. Do not move the pot because there is potent...ial to spread the fire or to be burned. NEVER throw water on it. This will only increase the size of the fire. If you are not sure if you have the fire out or if it has reached the cabinets or walls in your home, call 911 immediately. Have the fire department ensure that the fire is completely extinguished. Always be alert when cooking. Do not cook if you are really tired or have consumed alcohol or drugs. Only YOU can prevent cooking fires.
