Hockey battles at our WES 16th Annual Winter Active

16th ANNUAL WINTER ACTIVE COMES TO WES IN THE NEW NORMAL! On Thursday, January 28, our students took part in our 16th Annual Winter Active Day. Students and staff enjoyed a great time on a brisk cool -17 degree day. We did miss our parent volunteers and former WES students who usually help out on this day. Due to Co-Vid protocols it was not about to happen in the new normal. We are hoping next year we will be able to have them back with us. The cold weather did not da...mpen our spirits or smiles and students could be seen having fun and cooperating with others during their stations. Each class was divided up into two groups and they were able to take part in at least four different stations that were spread throughout the school grounds. There were a total of 15 stations. We were not able to join together in our annual assembly in the gym so we just had to focus on getting outside and having some fun. Our students need to be reminded that the outdoors can strengthen the soul and fresh air enhances the mind and exercise enhances the body. The message for the day was simple with a simple Do the Right Thing and have some Fun today! Huge WES STAR salute goes out to WES Breakfast program for providing the refueling snack of oranges and cheese strings after our 45 minutes of activity. The final thank you goes out to the students and staff of WES for their love of life and fun in the snow. Sometimes we all need to get out of our comfort zone and get outside and feed off the energy that the students bring. This connection with our students outside the classroom reminds us all that relationships are the most important part of building character in our students. It is nice to all come together and enjoy some fun even though the weather was not ideal like last year we still enjoyed fellowship and cooperation. See you in the gym, Mr. Mitchell

Grade 6GS took the reigns from Mrs. Goodwin and found experiments to demonstrate for their peers. The purpose was to teach their classmates about the different properties of air. They are now Air Experts!
