Wakaw & District EMS 18.11.2020

After 22 years of Emergency Services, we would like to Congratulate Paulette Gaudet on her well deserved retirement! Paulette's dedication to Wakaw EMS was remarkable. So many hours of on-call, many kilometers travelled, many meals and family time missed - and we're sure a few loaves of bread that just didn't quite make it into the oven! She was our in-house seamstress and sharer of recipes. We will definitely miss the stories she would share from back when Steve and Michell...e took over Wakaw EMS! Paulette was a strong advocate for her patients, ensuring they always received the best quality of care. Whether it was rocking a sick baby or wrapping a splint, Paulette's compassion for her patients always shone through. Paulette's words of wisdom will be missed around base, but we hope she continues to stop in for coffee and update us on her latest projects! On behalf of all of us at Wakaw EMS, Congratulations, Enjoy your retirement! We've got it from here. https://www.facebook.com/910418279127729/posts/1767299860106229/

Tick Season Has Arrived! If you find a tick embedded into your skin: *Take a deep breath, you CAN handle this! ... *Use a pair of tweezers to grasp it as close to the skin as possible and pull straight out. *Clean the bite wound with soap and water. As with all bug bites, keep the wound clean and keep an eye on it for infection (You can use an antibiotic ointment like Polysporin to help prevent infection). A tick bite is NOT a medical emergency.
