Wallaceburg Animal Shelter 09.11.2020

Over the past week Pet And Wildlife Rescue has been closely monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. While the risk of exposure to the virus at our shelters is currently low, the risk may increase with the influx of foot traffic during holidays and school closures. In order to protect our staff and the general public we are taking the following steps to reduce the risk of transmission at our facilities. Until further notice, only the following services will be ava...ilable at our locations (405 Park Ave. E, Chatham & 113 Arnold St., Wallaceburg): Scheduled surrenders Stray drop offs Stray reclaims Quarantine services (dogs and cats) Scheduled adoptions Food pickups from our food bank Animal control will operate as usual and all calls will be addressed. Volunteers are asked to schedule their visit with our volunteer coordinator. In closing, we thank everyone for your understanding and continued support as we work our way through this evolving situation. We will post regular updates as the situation evolves. If you have any questions you can contact our office during business hours at 226-996-9969 or email us at [email protected] Please remember that our emergency line is only designed for dogs at large and dog bites after hours.

Coyotes are opportunistic feeders. That means they may try to take advantage of small animals they come across, such as pets. You can protect your pet by keepin...g them on a leash when out walking, and keeping them indoors at night. Be sure to clean up dog waste since this can attract coyotes. Thank you Lisa Everaert for donating to our Wallaceburg shelter! Lisa is an animal loving real estate agent and she generously has offered to donate to PAWR with each house she sells. Keep her in mind if you are in the market!
