Happy New Year from Wallflower Events and Designs . . Although this year did not go as planned (for any of us) I am choosing to focus on all the good that came out of it. .... . The weddings that were able to move forward were intimate and so full of love it made my heart full. . . Wallflower was able to grow and build a new studio, fully equipped with a consultation space for when we are all able to safely be together again. . . As I write this, I have just finished designing my fourth lockdown wedding just this week and I am so excited to settle in with pajamas and a glass of champagne. I might even make it to 10pm . . From the bottom of my heart (and my family’s), thank you for supporting small this year and for choosing us as your planner, coordinator, decorator and florist. It means the absolute world. . . Why Hire a Month/Day-of Wedding Coordinator . . Coordinators help provide a stress-free environment and a peace of mind for the wedding couple, their wedding party, and their family. When a month-of coordinator comes on board, we focus on organization and logistics. For example, creation of your timeline, jumping in with vendor communication, organizing vendor set up, etc. ... Coordinators have a specific skill set when it comes to putting out last-minute fires. We can rearrange seating, throw together a forgotten table setting (happens way more than you’d think), keep the timeline on schedule, direct guests, wedding party and so on. I have been incredibly quiet on social media these past few weeks. I have no specific reason why, just that I needed a bit of a break and the creative juices just weren’t flowing when it came to captions and grid planning (who am I kidding, I don’t grid plan ). I will try my best to show up on social media more often and start sharing some more tips and tricks for wedding planning, especially during a global pandemic. ... I feel like Fun Fact Friday should be a thing, and by thing, I mean just today because I’ll probably forget next time There have been some new faces around here and I haven’t done one of these in a while so here I go... Five fun facts about me! ... 1. Most people don’t know that my legal name isn’t Neena. It is actually Christina. I was named after my great grandmother and although it’s a beautiful name, it just isn’t me. My family started calling me Neena (Nina) as a nickname/shortform since I was small and it stuck like glue. 2. I have an irrational fear of popping balloons. If you’ve ever ordered a balloon arch from me, you would have experienced this first hand. 3. I’ve known my husband for over half of my life, exactly 17 years. We just celebrated our six year dating anniversary and in a few weeks we will have been married for three years. 4. The most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done was skydiving in New Zealand. I had to be the first one to jump or there was no way I was getting out of the plane. 5. I’ve recently found out that I’m allergic to red wine and to say my heart is broken is an understatement. The Owner/Neena - designer, coordinator, planner, decorator, consultation manager, dreamer, maker, your wedding day best friend, sometimes a therapist, the one who wakes up at 3am just to triple check the day-of timeline. ... The Husband - number one fan, gofer, businessman, free assistant, often the level headed one, the one you always see on your wedding day with an armful of supplies. The Shop Dog - wiggle butt, unregistered service dog, best friend, the one who always stops to smell the flowers. Not pictured here - the support team of family and friends who always have our backs, the photographers who’ve become great friends, the hours spent on learning something new, the certifications, the wholesalers we can’t live without, the vendors we love to work with, the reviews and testimonials received, the clients who gave us a chance and helped bring our vision to life...
