I was selected by @myfairbankvillage to design a temporary mural for the BIA office for @stepsinitiative 's #mainstreetartchallenge recently - a fun challenge that allowed me to draw lots of buildings! The different fruits reflect the different cultures in the community & the buildings directly reference the local businesses in the neighbourhood Thankful for the opportunity & had my first delicious dine- in experience with @suetoddillustration at Zuki Sushi after a few wrong turns from false info on Google Maps Sue hand- carved her design with lino and her sidewalk decals are installed all throughout the neighbourhood so check that out too

I biked to the studio today and screamed when I saw these bisqued babies lined up on my shelf I haven't worked in the studio for almost 6 months now - I miss throwing on the wheel,... I miss reclaiming clay, I miss flipping the almost- dry- enough- to- work- with clay chunks like pancakes, I miss walking into the studio and talking for 30 minutes before actually moving things off my shelf to work, I miss all the tea breaks we have with endless snacks (ferrero rochers) and chats, I miss catching up with everyone about our weeks, I miss screaming while I glaze, I miss crying about life, I miss the safe space that the studio provides and the feeling that temporarily nothing else matters as much beyond the piece I'm working on and the people I'm with An emotional day and a more emotional post because it's been 3 years since I started going to the studio that I discovered from Bunz. Almost 2 years since I wanted to learn wheel throwing and about 1 year since I actually sat on the wheel. Can you tell I miss the studio

I moved to this apartment with my mom 7 years ago & I *just* discovered there's a huge park near me recently!! So I've been reading, snacking, journalling, podcast- listening and people watching on my own whenever I can & it has really helped clear my mind. Except for the one time I cried because a stranger made me feel very uncomfortable so i had to get up and leave, i'll scream if he ever comes up to me again @ L'amoreaux North Park
