The Manitoba 150 Women Trailblazers have been announced, and the women who founded the first MCC Thrift shops are being recognized for their hard work. Not only are these women trailblazers in Manitoba, but throughout the USA + Canada as the network of MCC Thrift shops has grown. ICYMI, here's a little MCC Thrift history - Selma Loewen, Sara Stoesz, Susan Giesbrecht and Linie Friesen (pictured above) opened the first MCC Thrift shop in Altona in March 1972. A few weeks late...r Agatha Friesen opened the second shop in Steinbach, and Justina Baerg followed a few months later opening a shop in Winnipeg. The movement grew from there! Thank you to all the people who have been (and continue to be) involved in growing the MCC Thrift network.
