What can you expect when you come to Warmland Dental? That's a good question! View the video to learn more!

Warmland Dental 24.09.2020

We are excited to let you know that under the new provincial guidelines and recommendations from the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, we will be re-opening for dental services this week. Although we provided treatment to over one hundred emergency patients during the closure, we were forced to cancel hundreds of scheduled appointments. Rest assured, if your appointment was cancelled, we will be in contact with you to re-book. Please be patient with us. If you have concerns, ...please call us during regular office hours. As always, our clinic, and dentistry in general, takes infection control seriously. We have always used the best practices and equipment available for sterilization. Years ago, knowing about aerosols, we purchased large filters and they have helped keep the air we breathe as clean as possible. There will be some new safety measures in effect. When you visit us, you will notice that our reception area has large plexi-glass barriers in place. Unfortunately, we had to remove all magazines from the reception area and there will be fewer places to sit in order to allow for social distancing. We will also be staggering appointment times to lessen contact between patients. Our reception area and contact surfaces will also be cleaned regularly throughout the day. We ask all patients to fill out a Covid Screening form prior to coming into your appointment. If you are at risk of having Covid-19, we are still able to discuss your concern on the phone and determine the best approach. It is imperative that everyone, including our staff are healthy and not exhibiting respiratory symptoms in order to not increase the spread of the virus. We will be wearing the same protective gear as always, with few exceptions. Your safety is our top priority.

At Warmland Dental the Covid 19 pandemic has limited our treatment to emergencies only. However, we are looking forward to the future and preparing for a new opening when safe. This includes investing in the best technology available for single visit dentistry. This has never been more important. Our new milling unit will fabricate a variety of crowns, bridges and implant prostheses in more materials, more rapidly and more accurately. The future looks bright! #dentsplysirona

For any of my dentist friends and their staff, I will be presenting a webinar on the complete chairside implant workflow next Thursday. Love to 'see' you there!

During this difficult time, Warmland Dental made the decision to continue to treat emergency patients. We are doing this in the safest manner possible with screening and protective equipment. Over the last 3 weeks we have seen and treated many people suffering with severe dental pain, serious infections and dental trauma due to accidents. It gives us great satisfaction to know that we are doing our part to keep patients from the hospital ER, serving patients referred from ...the hospital and helping other dentists who do not have the protective equipment to treat patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Huge appreciation goes to my CDA office manager Mila. She has assisted in most of the surgical procedures, dealt with the cumbersome administrative aspects and generally kept the office afloat. All the while, putting herself at greater risk than if she simply stayed home. I am grateful for her courage and so are the patients.

Due to the lack of PPE available to dental offices, we may for forced to stop seeing emergency patients as of this Thursday. Hopefully this wont be the case. However, the safety of our patients and staff are paramount in addition to limiting the spread of COVID-19.

What classifies as a dental emergency? During the pandemic, dentists are restricted to providing only certain procedures. Our licensing college has posted articles for both dentists and patients. They can be found here: https://www.cdsbc.org/Pages/COVID-19-Landing.aspx In a nut shell, it is strongly recommended that only emergency treatments are offered. This includes infection, trauma and dental pain that cannot be controlled by other means. This would cover severe tooth... aches that are constant, swelling related to a tooth infection or accidents that fracture or dislodge teeth. Often, if possible, tooth aches are managed with antibiotics for the time being. An emergency procedure would not include a sensitive tooth (cold), a fractured tooth that is not causing consistent pain, or simple restorative procedures to treat cavities. We have many patients who need to have restorative procedures to treat existing decay (cavities) and/or fractured teeth. Due to the strong recommendations from the regulatory body, we are not able to provide those treatments. This is, of course, concerning given that untreated decay and broken down teeth can progress and lead to more complicated, extensive and costly procedures. This is unfortunate and unavoidable at this moment. If you have questions about your oral health and the implications of not receiving dental treatment, you are welcome to ask questions via private message at [email protected] If you do require emergency treatment, we are here to help. First, try to contact your existing dentist and see if they are equipped to provide treatment. If our office is needed, this does not mean that you have to change dentists. Once this is over, your dentist will resumed care.

We all want to get back to work and normal operations. This does not help.

Warmland Dental 22.07.2020

If you have a true dental emergency, please call our office directly. If we do not answer, follow the directions on the message. We are able to provide treatment in emergency cases if you are not experiencing respiratory symptoms, have not had contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case and are not self isolating due to recent travel. We are here to help.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Warmland Dental will be available to treat patients who have a true dental emergency. An emergency is defined as acute pain, infection and trauma that requires dental treatment to resolve. We have an emergency team in place who did not attend the Pacific Dental Conference, are not symptomatic and have not had direct contact with someone with a positive COVID-19 test. This limitation of practice is from the provincial level and our regulatory body. Of course, this may change as the situation develops. Check back here for further updates.

Warmland Dental 16.06.2020

Due to the Covid pandemic we have been told by our regulatory body to limit dental treatments to emergencies only. Due to this we will be cancelling all non-emergency treatments for an indefinite period of time. If you are experiencing a true dental emergency (pain/infection) please call our office at 250-715-1010.

4 months after implant placement and a customized healing abutment, the final restorations are made in a single appointment. There have been many advances in implant prosthetics lately. The chairside cerec approach still remains as one of the most efficient and customizable treatment workflows.
