A man was asked to paint a boat. He brought his paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him. While painting, he noticed a... small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it. When he finished painting, he received his money and left. The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice check, much higher than the payment for painting. The painter was surprised and said You've already paid me for painting the boat Sir! But this is not for the paint job. It's for repairing the hole in the boat. Ah! But it was such a small service... certainly it's not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant. My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened: When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention the hole. When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip. They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time. When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole. Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing. Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your 'small' good deed. So no matter who, when or how, continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively, and carefully repair all the 'leaks' you find. You never know when one is in need of us, or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone. Along the way, you may have repaired numerous 'boat holes' for several people without realizing how many lives you've saved.

Hey you! In the case of your high efficient furnace or high efficient water heater shutting down. First thing to do in this extreme cold environment is check the outside chimney for frost & ice build up. You can knock the ice out to reopen the blockage for proper air flow. Use a blow dryer to melt the ice. Stay warm you people.

To all my friends & customers who reside in mobile homes, Please prepare your drain & waterlines from freezing. Check to make sure heat trace is plugged in, breakers are on and when temperature drops to minus 30 you leave a water tap running the thickness of a pencil lead. You can also put a heater under your crawl space for added warmth. Stay warm & vigillant.

Happy New Year Everyone. I have come across many valves to the garden hose faucet still open in some homes. Winter temperatures are around the corner. This is a reminder to double check that your out side garden hose has been removed from the faucet & that all inside valves to your underground sprinklers and hose bibs are turned off. This will be your last warning. You can still call for me for repairs, ill be ready for the big freeze that's coming. Please take all the precautions you can, it may save you some grief & money.

Hi everybody. I have a special message for all of you who have a hot water tank. This last few weeks I have responded to many flooded basements from hot water tanks cracking & leaking. The water damage is absolutely terrible. In Medicine Hat your tank will need replacing after 10-12 years. It is the quality of water that dictates how long a tank will last. There is a couple ways to determine the manufacture date of the tank. Google the brand of your tank & add ‘age’ in the search bar, click the link & then look up either the first letters or numbers in the serial number & the manufacture date will correspond with age. If your tank is older than 12 years , keep a very close eye on it, or call a plumber, get a quote, & have it replaced. My price is $975.00 & gst for a 40 gallon atmospheric tank installed. Stay dry & warm & shop local.

Its time once again to prepare for winter. I have already responded to frozen water lines. Please winterize all your outside plumbing fixtures. Remove garden hoses from the freeze free hose bibs. Plug in your heat tape to water and sewer lines under your home or trailer. Stay warm out there.
