To have a veteran of the War in Afghanistan share his experiences with us, was truly special today. We gained a window to another world with his provoking and thoughtful connections to fundamentals of democracy. Thank you Major Wiss, and thank you to all of our service members, past and present.

This past week, students did art work to commemorate our history. Now this week, we honour the sacrifices of our service members. On Tuesday, grades 5-12 will have the honour of Major Wiss (from the Memory Project) speak to them virtually. Then on Thursday we will stream the national ceremony and students will lay wreaths in their classrooms. Lest we forget.

The class with the most food donations won the prize of being able to select staff members to silly string. Mrs. Toronchuk and Mrs. Maynard were the lucky recipients! (But I think that later they got a little revenge...)
