If you've been dying to sink your teeth into the debate over what should be done with the east Gardiner, now is your chance. Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto are cordially inviting you to chime in on the designs put forth for the hybrid alternative for the east Gardiner Expressway. Meeting Details... Date: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 Time: 6:30p.m. 9:00p.m., Open house: 6:30p.m.; presentations: 7:00p.m. Location: The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge St. Background The four original alternative designs; maintain, improve, replace and remove, were first introduced to the public in the first consultation back in June 2013, withhe latter alternative being officially approved by the Public Wiorks and Infrastructure Committee until it became replaced by an additional hybrid alternative.The hybrid, combines the maintain and replace components. It was decided as the preferred design by Toronto City Council in a 24-21 vote last June. From Bluffers Park in the east to Sunnyside Park int the west, the city's tree canopy, made up of mostly maple and cottonwood trees near the water, turned fifty shades of red, burnt orange and canary yellow over the past month. Now its time to get ready for winter and drag the snow shovels out!
