This is a serious concern for many of us given the choices the Ford government has made about how to fund the Return to School this fall.

We know Boards are doing their best but this is a very frustrating situation for our secondary students!

This is a helpful info-graphic regarding why classes are being "collapsed". Note that this is a generalization of the Primary (grades 1-3) Provincial funding numbers. Provincial teacher to student funding ratio is 1:26 for JK/SK (with a DECE for classes over 15 students) and 1:24.5 for Gr 4-8. The general funding for secondary is 1:23, though class sizes vary greatly by course and grade here. The funding ratios are NOT caps, so classes can be larger as school boards have to average out classes to these numbers.
