The words are in Portuguese but the message is strong in any language. People with Down syndrome are not off-beat, ugly, weak, objects, or dependent. They are strong, beautiful, independent, free, and courageous. #washawaythestereotypes #seetheability #capable

We’ve posted about Maryanne and Tommy before. They’re a couple from the UK who’ve been together for 30 years! Incredible from anyone’s standards but even more beautiful because they both have Down syndrome. Tommy took a bad fall a few weeks ago and has since contracted covid-19 while in the hospital. He isn’t doing well and doctors do not think he’ll make it. Please keep Tommy and Maryanne in all of your good thoughts.
