This park is packed FULL of ADVENTURE! If you’re planning a trip out to Meadow Lake Provincial Park, you might want to book an extra day off! Spanning ove...r 135 km from Waterhen Lake to Cold Lake, there’s endless outdoor activities found in the park that will definitely satisfy your adventurous side. I’m already thinking of returning this fall to paddle the Waterhen River and hike parts of The Boreal Trail again. Speaking of autumn, I highly recommend visiting any of our SaskParks during that season! It’s a great time of year to experience the outdoors and take in some spectacular fall foliage. If you’re interested in hiking or biking The Boreal Trail, remember to pre-register online or register at the administration office by completing a backcountry registration form, and obtain the most up-to-date camping information. Conditions change daily along the trail especially heading into fall, where the location of your whereabouts is for your safety. Online registration can be found on the webpage: tourismsaskatchewan.com Fee per tent, per night, is $11 to use the backcountry sites. Happy Exploring!! Well today is the day!!!! Today we open our doors to the public for Table Sales and inside dining. We are limited to 50% capacity and unfortunately can still NO...T have steak night. HAZELS Cafe seating area will remain closed for the remainder of the summer but you are more than welcome to bring your Family into the Bar to eat! We are so sad to announce that Wine Camp 2020 will be postponed until next summer. Although our group size would have been under the group size regulations in A...lberta/Sask we felt it necessary to postpone until next summer. We want this experience to be like any other and it just would not be the same with the strict regulations and social distancing measures we would have to put into place! So we have a new date......... August 6-8 2021!!!!! So what does that mean.... anyone who has signed up has been reached out to with their deposit is being held until next year and anyone who didn't get in before the deadline now has a chance to join us next year!! This afternoon, I joined Lillian Neilly from Sask Parks for another -40 adventure through Meadow Lake Provincial Park. A few years ago I hiked the 130km Boreal ...Trail solo and today, Lillian and I revisited some of my favourite spots of the hike - but in the snow! It was absolutely magical - the snow was soft and powdery and hanging in the trees like a winter wonderland. We even spotted a deer bounding through the bush! After today's (and this week's) adventures - you'll find me plunked right in front of the fireplace with cozy socks on, wrapped in a blanket, Earl Grey tea in hand, editing some video footage at Waters Edge Eco Lodge This is honestly one of my favourite places to stay because of the lodge's perfect combination of adventure and relaxation - hiking, skiing, skating, snowshoeing but also hanging out reading books, playing games and lounging. If you guys haven't heard of it, I'd seriously recommend adding it to your list of places to stay. It's one of my favourite getaways in Saskatchewan (and anyone who knows the owner Shelly, knows how wonderful she is too!)
