Our maintenance team and programs team joined forces to create a balcony lighting ceremony for the residents this year! On each floor they created displays so the residents could enjoy them all holiday season long from their home areas The programs team served treats and played music while the residents enjoyed the balconies and patio lighting up. Shout out to the nursing team as well who assisted residents who wanted to attend!... For the next couple of weeks our Milestones 2020 Hall of Fame will be set up in our entrance .. Some of our team members are celebrating some pretty big milestones this year! From 5 years on the team to 40 years, congratulations to you all. We are in awe of your hard work, dedication, and passion you put into your work every day. .. Every single one of you has such a special part in helping the residents live fully every day! THANK YOU!

What a symbolic month to remember the generation we are so privileged to serve. In November we wanted to take the time to honour our veterans here at Waters Edge. .. And especially today, Remembrance Day, we honour all who have served, and are currently serving our beautiful country. .. We are unable to have our Remembrance Day Service this year due to pandemic measures, but this day is very special to our residents here. As a substitute this year, the residents will engage i...n: virtual services displayed on TVs, as well as room-to-room trumpet player playing outside the building by the TV Lounges having a wreath laid at the Legion Service at Memorial Gardens andat 11:00am the home will play the Last Post, have 2 minutes of silence, followed by the Rouse .. We also want to take the time to acknowledge family members and loves ones of those who have served, as we know they have made significant sacrifices too. See more

Last weekend the residents participated in a reverse Halloween! Typically the residents would hand out candy to kids at our front entrance, however due to current pandemic circumstances we couldn't do that this year. So instead the team members helped the residents dress up and delivered candy to them! Hi Everyone! We are looking for a temporary licensed hair dresser for our Care Community! .. A few of our needs: ..... Someone who is available at minimum 2 days a week to provide hair dressing services for residents .. Someone who is educated/ open to education on Infection Control practices in Long Term Care Homes .. Must have current license .. .. What we offer: .. YCAN (YMCA Community Action Network) graciously donated a box of wellness supplies to Waters Edge to help support the residents' mental and social health through the journey of this on-going pandemic. The box consisted of books, crosswords, coloring pages, markers, crayons, paint, canvas’, stress balls, board games and so much more. All of the items have been sorted and dispersed through the Programs Team to use with small group programming and 1:1 interactions with the residents. We cannot thank YCAN enough for thinking of Waters Edge for this project and putting in the time, effort, and resources to create such an amazing gift. Celebrating all of the hard work, dedication, and awe inspiring work the team has been displaying over the last few months, and even more so over the last few very tough weeks.
