Here is another think about it Thursday Take advantage of your extended health plan before the end of the year! Now is the time to take care of those nagging aches and pains that have been bothering you. Here are some tips to get the most out of your plan before your benefits renew in the new year. ... 1) Research your benefit plan. Most insurance companies have an online portal that shows you how much coverage you have for different services (and if a doctor's prescription is required). Otherwise, you can call the insurance company and learn the ins and outs of your plan from a representative. You may also have additional coverage under your spouse's benefit plan. 2) Plan your care. Once you know which services your benefits will cover, you can start to come up with a plan. We recommend going to a clinic that offers a variety of services so the team can collaborate and give you the best treatment possible under one roof (eg. physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, orthotics, bracing etc). 3) Submit your claim as soon as you can. A majority of insurance companies let you submit claims online as a quick way to get reimbursed. If your plan allows it, your treating clinic can often do direct billing so you only have to pay for the portion that isn't covered by your plan. PS. WE DIRECT BILL!!!! 4) Take care of yourself.
