Tis’ the season for giving! We have a family-friendly event planned for Nov 28th from 12-6pm at Wave Maker. BeaverTails and Onset and Rime will be selling their items and we will be collecting toques and gloves for the Cambridge Shelter Corporation (The Bridges) as they are in great need of these outdoor clothing pieces. . Onset & Rime is a Kitchener-based business run by two sisters, Jackie and Michelle. They make scented soy candles for people who love books. Each scent is ...thoughtfully designed to evoke scenes, characters, places and themes from your favourite stories (how cool is that?!). November for Neskantaga Hello everyone! We have another few announcements! We have paired up with @allsauced and @paradigm.shift.productions with support from @kyky651, @knowledge.on.tap / @chris.and.sheena , @jjoelrobinson , @alisha4ft9 , @dmannster , @glenfletcher43, @msetch6 @mr.etch6 @jimmy_fioretti and others in the community to raise awareness and funds for the long-standing Water Crisis in Neskantaga and other indigenous communities in Northern Ontario. We would lik...e to do whatever we can to help fight this crisis, and we have planned several initiatives throughout November to help contribute. . Trivia will be moved to this Thursday November 19th at 7 pm. Jimmy aka the "Quizzard of Oz" will be back with many interesting categories: The Office, hollywood cinema, name that tune, and two surprise categories! Any donations collected this day will go towards the Neskantaga fundraiser. . We have received many generous donations from other breweries and members of our community for a silent auction we have been organizing which will be from Nov 20-29. Hello everyone! With Waterloo Region moving to COVID level Orange, we have a few changes here at the brewery. Our version of the Black Is Beautiful beer created by @weatheredsoulsbrewing is now on tap at the brewery! This worldwide collaboration is brewed to bring awareness to the injustices that people of colour face daily and to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone. As of this post, there are 1,177 breweries from 22 countries showing support for equality and fighting against social injustice! . Our version wasn't quite ready for our awareness and fun...draising event with @paradigm.shift.productions at the brewery last Sunday (see previous posts), but we were happy to support the other breweries initiatives that we brought in for the event (@meritbrewing, @5paddlesbrewing, @stonecityales, @toothandnailbeer). A big thank you to everyone who stopped by and contributed to our @nutrition_4_learning fundraiser over Labour Day weekend! We raised $837.65 for the program! Also, a big thank you to the @nutrition_4_learning crew for all that they do for the school children of Ontario.

BLACK LIVES MATTER (3/3) . The Event . This Multi-faceted event starts at 7 pm on Sunday, October 18. 4 tapas-sized food servings provided by Lori @allsauced will be paired with Wave Maker beers with the last pairing being @meritbrewing version of Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout, an initiative started by @weatheredsoulsbrewing . Food servings will be spaced 30 minutes apart, so plenty of time to enjoy the food and beer options available. ... . We have brought in 4 Black is Beautiful beers from across Ontario from @meritbrewing in Hamilton, @toothandnailbeer on Ottawa, @5paddlesbrewing in Whitby, and @stonecityales in Kingston. These beers will be available to drink on their own, in a 4 x 5 oz flight format and if any left over, available to-go with a food purchase. The financial donation will go to help feed indigenous families who are struggling to feed their families, especially during COVID-19. BLACK LIVES MATTER (1/3) . Scott, the owner and brewmaster of the brewery, here. I'd like to take a moment to speak from the heart. We have been in our own world here at the brewery, working hard to get our beer back out there and want to acknowledge that we have not been as vocal as we should have been on a very important societal movement. We care about making positive change in the community around us. . Wave Maker believes that in order for equality among all to exist,... establishments must develop policies with clear language and also provide staff with guidelines to ensure the safety and inclusivity of a space is maintained at all times. The safety and inclusivity cannot be assumed. Even though Wave Maker has always believed Black Lives Matter, we are now doing the work to ensure our messaging shows that.
