Although we only wear a poppy for a few weeks every year we are reminded of those who have served and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. How they made the world a better place. How they’ve shaped the freedoms we have come to enjoy & love. Every time we don our Firefighting gear we are again reminded of those before us who proudly wore this same flag many years before us. How they gave themselves to the greater good. We are fortunate to not wear our gear often but every ...day we can be of service. Every time we do something for others we are honouring those who have served before us. Thank you to everyone who served! We are eternally grateful. With love, WBFD

Today we remember those who lost their lives 19 years ago in what are forever known as 9/11. ^NM

I finally got to use our backpack blower this time, after chasing the leading edge off the fire I found it worked great to blow the burning duff off and expose the hotspots. This helped us save water and hit only the active hotspots. Special thanks for Farm Credit Canada for the grant last year for the blower! ^NM

We responded to a report of a field fire & after 4.5 hours we chased the hotspots out!!! Thanks very much to Erin De Ronde of the Break.ery for providing supper for our tired and spent firefighters. All to the best to the surrounding rurals who were fighting their respective fires!... ^NM

Shortly after 3pm we were dispatched to a our third combine fire in as many days. Luckily yesterday members were present cooling some hot spots when the farmer was combining the rest of the field from Saturday. There was minor damage and they were able to keep going. Although the combine was lost today; everyone was safe and the damage was contained to the combine. ... Please keep up with your best fire practices as we hope for this weather to break! Have a happy, healthy and prosperous harvest 2020!!! ^NM

We received a dispatch text at 130pm to respond to a combine fire. Upon arrival members were quick to get to work tackling the fire. With the help of many many local farmers who supplied water from their tankers we were successful in our efforts to contain the fire in the old yard site with minimal crop lost. Unfortunately the combine was lost to the fire. I forgot to mention initially- thank you so much to everyone who came out and help; whether you supplied us with water or helped chase the flames. Your efforts didn’t go unnoticed. ^NM
