On February 10, Public Health Ontario alerted WDG Public Health that a previously-resolved case of COVID-19 had been identified as a case of the COVID-19 UK variant after subsequent genetic sequencing. Read more: https://bit.ly/374l7e3 No action is required by members of the public with respect to this case, but the public should be aware that gathering with others for even small amounts of time puts you at risk of acquiring a COVID-19 variant.
This morning, Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, instructed all local school boards and private schools to extend online-only learning for all schools until at least January 24, 2021.
