In December, #MemoryMondays highlight winter pastimes featured in the Barton Collection. The Barton Collection contains over 800 images taken by two generations of a farm family from the Floral-Grasswood area, south-east of Saskatoon, in the first 60 years of the 20th century. This photo shows children from the Barton family snowshoeing. Date: before 1960.

On this day of #CanadianInnovationWeek we are featuring the Cobalt Bomb which revolutionized the treatment of cancer. The exhibit honours the inspiring story of the first successful treatment of cancer with this machine at University Hospital in Saskatoon in 1951. This is very much a Saskatchewan and a Saskatoon story, thanks in part to the work of Dr. Sylvia Fedoruk.

Transgender Awareness Week is an opportunity to celebrate transgender, two-spirit, non-binary and gender-diverse communities and advocate for the visibility and rights of trans* people around the world. Transgender Awareness Week occurs just before Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20. Transgender Day of Remembrance honors the memory of victims whose lives were lost because of anti-transgender violence.
