Are you thinking about having a wedding on Halloween? Below are some ideas for you to check out and use for your Spooktacular event!
Important Update - Since the situation with the virus is ever evolving, I have been advised by the CCCC (Community Catholic Church of Canada) to hold off on marrying couples until after May 2020. Please keep this in mind if setting a date. I will post new updates as I receive them. Important Announcement Regarding My Wedding Services Amid Corona Virus Concerns Recently, Doug Ford has announced that gatherings will now be limited to a size of just 5 people until further notic...e. So what does this mean if you are getting married? It means that only the couple, their two witnesses and the Wedding Officiant will be the only people permitted to attend. Safety precautions will also be put into place that will include; safe social distancing and safe hygiene protocols for those present. If planning a wedding, consider live streaming your service to family members via Face Time or some other means, so that family members can still be part of your special day from the safety and comfort of their own homes. Also, most venues are now closed for services or public gatherings, however, I can still perform your ceremony outdoors on a beach, in your backyard etc. Another thing to keep in mind - some local Municipalities are not open to issue wedding licenses, so please consider that when planning your service. For more information about obtaining a license, please visit this site https://www.ontario.ca/page/getting-married On a positive note, I still have dates available for weddings. Please contact me by messaging me on here for more information to book your ceremony. Carol
Something wonderful happened recently. My wonderful husband of 12 years, Bill, told me that he wanted to marry me. Now, as most of you reading this will know, ...Bill has been living with dementia for 9 years. For the past year or so Bill has been unaware of our relationship, and no longer knows my name. So, when Bill told me that he, ‘Really REALLY liked me and wanted to be with me forever’ - I was really touched. Bill doesn’t use many words now and finds it hard to express himself, but I got lots of kisses and hugs as I accepted his ‘proposal’. It was so lovely. Another memory to treasure. What I wasn’t prepared for was that he’d remember the next day. He wanted to know when we were getting married. This was Thursday, and as I was having my ’close girlfriends’ round on the Saturday, I suggested that was a good day. My daughter Andrea said I needed a dress. Really? ‘Of course’ she said. ‘How else can it be a wedding?’ So, I got a dress that afternoon, expecting to return it unworn. But Bill was still remembering on Friday, so together we bought a special cake from marks, my cousin Lynne gave me flowers for my hair, and Eva planned and prepared renewal of vows with a special bit for Bill, so he felt we were getting married. The next day, with beautiful homemade bunting made by Lynne the day before, a beautiful flower arrangement made by Eva, perfect flowers from Susan for my bouquet, stunning weather all day, and my wonderful family around me, Bill and I got ‘married’ again. It was the most wonderful day. We are so blessed to be supported by family and close friends who love us both and do everything they can to help Bill and I enjoy our lives together. I never dreamt we would ever renew our vows, but we really did. And it was wonderful. Bill was wonderful. And what is even more amazing is that 2 weeks later Bill still thinks he’s just married his new girlfriend and it makes him very happy. Thank you if you’ve made it to the end! Please take from this that you can never assume that just because someone has advanced dementia with all the difficulties that presents, that they can’t still surprise you in the most unlikely ways. Bill has made me very happy yet again. #LoveWhatMatters Credit: Anne Duncan

30 Creative Engagement Ring Boxes For A Perfect Proposal https://www.weddingforward.com/engagement-ring-boxes/
Now that the Niagara Region is going into Stage 3 starting this Friday, July 24th, this is what this means for weddings: For regions in Stage 3, gathering limits will increase to a maximum of 50 people indoors and a maximum of 100 people outdoors, with physical distancing in place. Gathering limits apply to all social gatherings and events, as well as some higher risk activities and venues. Gathering limits do not apply to settings such as beaches, parks, restaurants and bars..., but measures to enable physical distancing may limit capacity at any given time. Some municipalities have implemented additional restrictions or requirements, such as mandatory face coverings in commercial establishments and all indoor public places. More info on this can be found on the Ontario website. https://news.ontario.ca/
Good news! Restriction for weddings and funerals are easing up. More people allowed to attend!

Epic Bridal Gown Sleeves All hail wedding dresses with sleeves! The Royal Wedding may have showed off more classic silhouettes and graceful structure, but brides this year will be pushing all the boundaries with their gowns. Off-the-shoulder sleeves with billowing fabric + embroidered detailing, sleek, twisted satin, tinted beading and feathers to boot there’s nothing we don’t love about the way modern bridal sleeves are stylized.
Colorblock Decor The color block trend is going strong this year through dessert displays, tablescape installs, mixed linens and even the bridal party attire! Such a simple way to make a big impact and pay homage to those colors you love.
Overgrown Garden Vibes Like I said, 2018 blew us away with wispy, minimalistic decor vibes across the board, but there’s nothing like a space that blooms from the inside out. Couples today are going for enchanting indoor gardens to create a romantic atmosphere like no other. The first reception pictured is inside of a sail tent can you believe it?! We had to squint a few times because the lush autumn trees are just that good.
Celebrations in the Round Now, we’ve always been suckers for the unconventional, and the more we’ve seen ceremonies or receptions in the round, the more we grab every member of our families to show them. A little aggressive, I know, but LOOK AT HOW COOL! We love the way these intimate setups create an atmosphere of infinity and invitation plus, what better way to show off every angle of your epic wedding dress than this?
Monoflower Archway
Rise of the Monoflower This is one modern wedding idea we didn’t know we needed until now and yes, we’re coining the phrase monoflower I mean, what an incredible impact one flower type can make when arranged in bulk. From bouquets to escort card displays to floral headpieces, this wedding trend has room to grow! Pun intended.
Ruffles in Fashion The ruffly gown has been one trend that’s easy for us to spot it’s all in the name, people! Brides + their ‘maids are choosing flirty silhouettes that are double the ruffles, triple the fun. Even better where color is involved! We’d love to see any of the gowns below when the DJ plays Twist N Shout!
More Unique Lighting Ideas
Unique Lighting Candles have always been a great way to set the mood, but even better? Unique lighting fixtures to really set the mood. Move aside, string lights! Receptions in 2019 will be LIT with mixed pendants, exposed bulbs, fringed masterpieces, mini lampshades and capiz shell chandeliers. How will you illuminate your space?
This has to be the greatest wedding dance EVER!
Wearable Flowers Brides today amaze us with their creativity namely in the accessories sector! We’re seeing more and more couples embrace living hair accessories, wraps, arm cuffs If you’re having a summer wedding and want to achieve that layered look without the *ahem* inappropriate attire for the season, take a cue from the fashionistas below and let your guests be wowed by these subtle statement pieces.
Place Setting Designs Using Texture
Layering Textures Texture is nothing new, and quite often, we’ve seen it blossom throughout the fashion industry with every new collection release. But does texture have to be reserved for this category alone? Heck no! One way that couples are shrugging off a static color palette is layering unique textures that invite the eyes to dance while simultaneously awakening all the senses.
Congratulations to Katie and Scott Ingold whom I married on June 16, 2019.
