Painting with friends is the best kind of painting! These children have a ton of fun each day playing together and doing fun crafts and activities, all while staying safe in a small group setting in our Provider’s home.

Today we are introducing our Provider Uzma, who has been with Wee Watch Nepean since September 2011. Uzma has such a calm demeanour with the children, they just gravitate to her. Her new play space was purposely designed to enrich her daycare, and indeed it does! It’s always fun to visit her home and see what her group is up to. She gives them the freedom to choose what they want to play with and they take it from there. Uzma lets them use their imagination and create their o...wn experiences. She may add to the learning, but she doesn’t control it. She attends our workshops regularly and has also attended other child care workshops throughout the city, on the weekends. That’s professionalism at its finest! Whether she is outside watering the plants with the children or inside helping with crafts, she is always smiling! You can tell she loves what she does! When she was asked, Tell me about your experience as a Home Childcare Provider, this was her response: It’s been a wonderful experience. I love working with kids and being creative through crafts and researching activities to promote learning. Using the children’s interests as a guide, I plan to learn activities for them. This experience allows me to develop a lifelong connection with them and they become family, as I become part of theirs. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Ontario, we want to reasure you that together, Wee Watch and our Providers are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe during these unprecidented times.

We have drawn names and shipped the prizes for last months Together Wee Can Step into STEM photo contest, Numbers: Easy as 1-2-3! Congratulations to our winners Ana P. in Markham, Christie H. in Brantford, and Rita G. in Paris, the photos were awesome, and the children seem to be really enjoying this years STEM program! This months theme is "Shapes Are All Around Us!" Children will be learning about different shapes, working on shape recognition, and playing I Spy Shapes to help learn shapes are all around us! The kids had fun making these popsicle stick birds at their Provider’s house this week. It was a cute and fun activity with only a few simple items needed to create.
