We know that there are people in our city who are facing mental health challenges. We know we have a heart to meet them where they are. But, do we know how best to care for others who are struggling in this way? The Sanctuary Course is the an incredible resource that informs pastors, leaders and family members about how to create a "come as you are" community for people who need help with mental wellness. Hey Life Church Family, I am writing to let you know that an individual who was in attendance with us Sunday September 13 has recently tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They were not symptomatic at that time and were unaware that they had been exposed. In trying to find the balance between keeping everyone safe and returning to normal life, it was expected that we would see cases in our schools, workplaces, and churches. Even so, hearing the news of someone... testing positive can bring up feelings of fear or anxiety. I want to encourage you that these past months while difficult, have helped prepare us to deal with these situations effectively, with calm, and the full assurance that we will get through this together. Here are some of the steps we are taking: 1. Anyone who was in close contact with the individual has been notified directly and encouraged to be tested. 2. Notifying all those who were in attendance at Life Church Sunday September 13th, along with our wider church family. 3. Following current AHS guidelines and protocols. With the distancing measures, mask use, and enhanced cleaning protocols we have had in place since reopening, we do not expect there was any widespread transmission. However, out of an abundance of caution, this Sunday September 20th we will forego gathering in-person and will hold our service online-only at www.welcometolife.online.
