As vaccines arrive in Niagara we want to remind our clients that anyone who wants a vaccine will be vaccinated FOR FREE in order of risk and priority. There is NO other way to receive a legitimate COVID-19 vaccine. Do NOT purchase a vaccine online. https://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca//niagara-reports-120-n

Please be aware that counterfeit vaccine scams are now starting to pop up!!!! In Canada you DO NOT need to buy/pay for the COVID vaccine. It will be given to anyone that wants it, for FREE, in order of risk and priority. Newcomers, you ARE eligible to receive the vaccine regardless of your status. Vaccines sold on the internet could be dangerous and will not be effective against the COVID-19 virus. There is no way to get a COVID vaccine other than through the government vaccination program. Please contact public health if you are contacted about buying a vaccine or if you have questions about the COVID vaccine.
We LOVE this initiative from UNHCR Canada ! One of the best things about working at a multicultural centre is getting to learn recipes from clients and share food during our ESL potlucks (pre-covid of course). The UNHCR Canada has put out a cookbook with each recipe coming from resilient refugees that left their home country and resettled in Canada. With every FREE download, a donation is made by an anonymous donor in support of refugee families. The full story can be read & the cookbook downloaded on CTV News at: https://www.ctvnews.ca//resilience-of-canada-s-refugees-ce

Today is international #HumanRights Day, and the theme is #recoverbetter. This year has brought the inequities, inequalities, & injustices of our society to the forefront, and we agree with the @UNHCR that we all need to do better to protect fundamental human rights.
Throwing it back to this time last year when things were all fun and games ! Lets all do our part and follow the new orange-alert restrictions so that we can get back to better days soon! #ThrowbackThursday
Wishing a safe and happy #Diwali to all who celebrate!

Please share with anyone that you know that may be new to Canada that is unfamiliar with how universal healthcare works. The COVID-19 Vaccine will be FREE and there is no way to pay to skip the line. As more and more good news about vaccine rollout comes out there is potential for scammers to prey on people that are unfamiliar with the Canadian healthcare system. Let's all work together to ensure we are sharing only accurate information during the pandemic.
