Welland Community Orchard

Spring has sprung! As the days get longer and warmer, the trees start to wake up from their winter sleep. Sending a reminder to the community that we still have Apple, Shipova, some pear and plums for sale in our nursery. Some are getting a few seasons old now so I would love to get ‘em out of there to make space for babies in the nursery. Send us a message if you’re interested! Prices vary from 30-60 dollars depending on maturity. All proceeds go right back into the orchard.

Another round of Fun things found in the orchard! This plant is commonly known as miner’s lettuce! The nickname harkens back to the California Gold rush days when miners would eat this succulent plant to stave off scurvy.

Fun things found in the orchard! I know this looks delicious but if you stumble across this in our orchard DO NOT eat. This is Hemlock and is poisonous. Often confused for wild carrot or parsley ( fun fact: one of its common names is poison parsley).
