My fellow Welland Pickleball club Members We all know that this year has been difficult and unprecedented for all due to Covid. Please consider a small unwrapped toy to help put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas Day. On Friday Dec 18 we will collect the toys at Maple Park @12:00 and drop them off at the Seaway Mall Toy Drive. Stay kind and be safe Join the Welland Pickleball Club... Don’t just think it Dink it See more
It was a grrrreat day for outdoor pickleball with the Welland Pickleball Club in Welland, Ontario today, December 11th!! 10C and sunshine all around! Everyone had to shed a layer ...or two! We had two full courts going a still a few people waiting to play. Would be nice to have this weather until... April! :D
Some say the paddle has been repurposed as a Verizon satellite dish. Don't be like this guy. Read the Dink. Improve your game.
2017... Good times!
Congratulations to Barrie, Ontario (my previous home town for 25 years) on getting even MORE PICKEBALL courts!!!
Twas the night before Christmas and out on the court Us picklers were pickling, a rambunctious sort. Our bags were all hung on a fence, by a hook But if you bro...ught an X40, they'd give you a look! The pros were all gathered on courts 1 and 2. Wearing paddle company shirts, so we knew who was who. The rest of us spread out and did what we could To get praise from strangers, telling us we were good. The first person I noticed, was giving instruction. She was a dominant, sideways-hat-wearing Russian. Her mixed partner was patient, but could put it away. He was a Head of the rest, a Canadian, eh! The team they were playing had done this before. Mixed partners? Maybe, could it be something more? The lefty had quick hands, not afraid to assert. And his partner was blonder, with a UPA shirt. Other players showed up, some early, some late. Two athletic young ladies from Michigan State. With cheeseburger clothes, one guy was a bright dresser. And another young lady, they all called, The Professor. There was a German with muscles, at least on one arm. And the Paddletek Prince led the way with his charm. A mother and daughter that wore matching clothes. And a new guy that knows all the Legacy Pros. Now back to our court, where we lack all the skill. Cuz we'd rather do rec play, than get out and drill. But we take it real serious, and wear pickleball clothes. With the name of our sponsor, so everyone knows. Four hours later and my phone had rang. Of course it's my wife, please...just one more game? Which really meant two, or two out of three. Pickleball addiction is as real as can be! The drop shots were solid, no need for a drive. And the dinking was good, long rallies we'd strive. The weather was chilly, and wind filled the air I wanted to lob, like I hadn't a care The other team's ready, with shirts matching red And visions of Ben Johns must be in their head. They take two steps back, with eyes open wide And my beautiful lob , well the wind had just died. When all of a sudden, there arose such a clatter First thought was Scott Golden, with his chitter-chatter No, it wasn't talking, but an engine of sort. Couldn't quite see the driver, he must've been short. The truck had been painted with logos and signs And had a faint smell, of Corona and limes. The driver stepped out, with a Florida tan. Claiming he could play Pickleball, with a drink in his hand. So he played a few games, got a loss and some wins "Now on to the next town," he said with a grin. He got to his truck and he jumped on the hood. "Merry Christmas to y'all, "It's Fun To Feel Good."

I'm posting this with a heavy heart... As much as I love pickleball and everything that comes with it... this is just taking up too much of my time. I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics of cleaning and cooking and maintaining my home, so something has to give. I will be getting rid of my collection. Below is a list of items I have to sell at this time. Serious inquiries only, and please don't insult me with low offers.... Thanks for reading and understanding... 1. Dustpan and broom 2. Sponges 3. Toilet spray 4. Mop and bucket 5. Window cleaner 6. Vacuum 7. Dishwashing liquid 8. Laundry detergent 9. Fabric softener 10. Laundry baskets 11. Toilet brush 12. Cleaning sprays
This could be me ON the courts ...at least the ending.
A very successful Second Annual Meeting for the Welland Pickleball Club held tonight via Zoom! Thanks to all WPC members who joined in - we would not be a club without YOU!
It's true... it's true!
It's called pickleball - no diving, please!
