2020 Halloween Safety Tips: Stay home if feeling ill or if you have mild symptoms. Only go out with members of your direct household. Only trick or treat outside.... Both trick or treaters and people handing out candy should wear a face covering. A costume mask is not a substitute for a face covering and should not be worn over a face covering as it may make it difficult to breathe. Consider building your face covering into the Halloween costume. Do not congregate or linger at doorsteps. Line up two metres apart if waiting. Avoid high-touch surfaces and objects. Whether collecting or handing out treats, wash your hands often and thoroughly or use hand sanitizer. Do not leave treats in a bucket or bowl for children to grab. Consider using tongs or other similar tools to hand out treats. Not feeling comfortable to get out and trick or treat? Take a look at the following alternatives: Encouraging kids to dress up and participate in virtual activities and parties Organizing a Halloween candy hunt with people living in their own household Carving pumpkins Having a movie night or share scary stories Decorating your front lawn

When we were kids Stories remind us, they teach us, and most importantly, they keep us connected. Time changes the landscape of events and holidays, but memories keep our Christmas stories alive and help shape the future for our families. Please share your traditions with us on the city's public engagement platform, YourChannel. Or, you can nominate a Welland home or downtown business in the Winter Lights Contest.... Some of us have lost our traditions over the years, but with your help, we can find them again. Or, we can make new traditions. Christmas recipes, unique gift exchanges, ugly holiday sweater contest, and so much more. Click on the link and get sharing. http://ow.ly/1gvc50ClO2Y
