Yesterday a number of members of our Lions Club set up a display and handed out "loot" bags at the Picton Drive Through Fair. It was a great day, we met lots of people and our goal was to make the community aware of all of the things we do! Our motto is "We Serve" and we certainly do! Recycling of eyeglasses and hearing aids, providing free gently used medical equipment, the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide Program, Litter Clean-up, Concerts in the Park (hopefully next... year!), our Dragon Boat Club and Seniors Card Club (again, hopefully next year), Christmas Gifts for Seniors, volunteering at the Storehouse Food Bank, Effective Speaking contest for students, tree planting, e-waste and clothing recycling, vision and hearing screening for children, books for kids, Lions Quest....the list goes on and on. Get in touch if you would like to be a part of this active group or just want to know more! We would love to hear from you. See more
Sadly, we have been informed that OES has cancelled all E-Waste events for the remainder of the year, so we are unable to hold our E-Waste and Clothing collection on October 17th. We apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. E-Waste can be disposed of in Belleville - https://quinterecycling.org//hazardous-electronic-waste-r/

We are a busy bunch! Last weekend members of the Wellington District Lions Club planted 100+ trees in Birdhouse City in Picton. Trees were planted to celebrate 100 years of Lions in Canada and also in memory of Erika Roth, the late wife of Lion Juerg Roth who donated the trees. We hope to make this an annual project!
The Pet Valu Walk for Dogguides is over and we are thrilled to announce that as of today, the Quinte Area Lions Team raised $7,805! That is on-line donations only and does not include any cheques or cash so this figure will go up! There were 15 Lions on the team from the Quinte area and 6 from the Wellington Lions Club. Great effort everyone!
