In collaboration with UGDSB and CMHA Waterloo-Wellington, Wellington Catholic will be offering Wellness Works!, a monthly youth conference for secondary school students. Each month will focus on a theme related to mental health and wellness. High school students who participate can earn community service hours for attending and they have an opportunity to win prizes. On January 7, the Province of Ontario announced that elementary and secondary schools will remain closed for the duration of the provincial lockdown. This aligns with direction from the region's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Nicola Mercer, who earlier today, instructed all schools in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health region to extend the period of remote learning until January 24, 2021. The online learning model will continue for both elementary and secondary stud...ents through the conclusion of the current provincial lockdown scheduled until January 23. Originally, our elementary students were to resume in-person learning on January 11. Wellington Catholic will provide further updates when they become available.
