~ HEART ~ Summer and heat are at its pique and that’s the time of HEART In Traditional Chinese Medicine Heart is considered a Monarch of the body that houses our Shen (spirit) and rules everything else, all organs will sacrifice for it... Heart is responsible for blood vessels and circulation, sweating , facial complexion , tongue and speech , sleep quality , memory and mental activity as well as overall joy Most importantly Heart is affected by all emotions especially anxiety and might be weakened by them causing disturbances in sleep and mental issues According to Chinese Medicine body clock Heart & Small Intestine (partner organ) time is between 11am and 3pm, and it is therefore recommended to have your physical activities & hearty during those hours. The blood circulation is at its best and will support extra strain on vascular system Your Heart needs some attention and love now and best strategy would be eating more red colour foods get moving throughout the day waking up earlier in the morning meditating manage stress/emotions Give your Heart some love and it will fill you with joy and happiness @ Wellness Acupuncture See more

~ SUMMER ~ Summer was long awaited and it’s finally arrived Long days, abundant sunshine , hiking , swimming , colourful fruit , unforgettable sunrises and sunsets ... What could be better? In Traditional Chinese Medicine summer is the time of the Heart which is responsible for blood circulation , sweating and vessels’ health (that’s why we tend to move and sweat a lot this time of the year)... It is recommended to include more red coloured foods and cooling meals in your diet to support your heart and small intestine in maintaining blood circulation and perspiration as well as cool you down in the heat The element of Summer is Fire and it’s colour is red . Enjoy your campfires and observation of the sun It will benefit your mind Movement is crucial for summertime! It makes the blood flow smoother and sweating helps to cleanse the pores and detoxify the skin. Don’t forget that we are also stocking up on vitamin D3 in summer! Joy is the emotion of summer and the Heart and we really need more of it now... Summer is a little life of itself - famous Ukrainian saying... Let’s go and live this life to the fullest with joy and love #acupuncture #acupuncturelife #needlepower #summerdiet See more

~ ACUPUNCTURE ~ Poking people with needles can heal the body... This idea doesn’t resonate with many people but it’s been proving itself for thousands of years... First historical reference of acupuncture was found in the Ma-Wang-Dui tomb’s sealed documents dated 198 BCE. Since then the humanity kept the knowledge and passed the skill of this amazing healing modality trough many generations ... I came to Chinese Medicine from a Western medicine background and questioned every new modality until it proved to be effective. Acupuncture has impressed me from first treatment and continues to surprise till today What can the Acupuncture treat? I get this question a lot. I’ve treated patients with insomnia, migraines, digestive issues like IBS and Chrone’s, eczema and psoriasis, infertility, stress, anxiety, depression, seizures, strokes, cysts, asthma, eye diseases, weight management, headaches, allergies, MS, edema, constipation, menstrual disorders, menopause, pain of all types and more. In every case I saw results, some serious health issues were disappearing in only few treatments. And I believe Acupuncture has no limits because it hasn’t disappointed me even once yet Before getting all upset and giving up on finding the cure - give Acupuncture a try. You will not regret it #acupuncturist #healingwithneedles #tcmp #acunap #chinesemedicine #acupuncturerocks @ Toronto, Ontario See more

~ SLEEP ~ Good sleep is important - we all know that. But from my experience working with people, most of us tend to underestimate it’s power and importance. Most patients will pay little attention to sleep unless it’s chronic insomnia. However, here are the facts:... Lack of sleep makes you gain weight. Researchers from California university found that when dieters cut back on sleep they started to put on pounds not changing their diet. It happens due to disruption of hormones (particularly ghrelin and leptin) If you had less than 6 hours of sleep a night it elevates the cortisol (stress hormone) level and makes us less stress resistant throughout the day Under-sleeping will cause higher acidity levels in the body that results in inflammation, becoming perfect environment for tumours, parasites and candida We can’t survive without sleep. The record of staying awake was achieved in 1965 by Mr.Gardner who hasn’t slept for almost 11 days It is recommended to sleep 7-8 hours a night. Since some of your organs and hormones renew at different time during the night, falling asleep between 9pm and 11pm is ideal If falling asleep is not easy try: - stop the screen time at least 2 hours before bed - have last meal of the day 4 hours prior to sleep - drink chamomile, tulsi or valerian root tea (these are proved to calm and relax your mind) - drink some tart cherry juice, it supports production of melatonin (sleep hormone) and is very helpful to promote deep sleep - melatonin itself could also be taken especially if jet lagged but try not to get used to it - have a relaxing bath with lavender essential oil Prioritize your sleep. It will keep you healthy and young longer! #acupuncturist #acupunctureworks #acunap #healthysleep #improvesleep #bedroom #zzz #loveyoursleep See more
