Tilapia is a generic name given to more than 100 species of white fish. It is affordable because it is mostly commercially farmed, and that is it's downside .... Farmed Tilapia are mass produced in crowded tanks where they will eat 'anything', all contaminants, waste from other fish etc. These fish are also fed antibiotics to keep them healthy and alive!... Nutritionally Tilapia are a good source of Omega 6 fatty acids, but most people are already consuming too much Omega 6 which in excess can cause inflammation, which is the root of most diseases. So what are the alternatives? If you really like Tilapia, look for the Wild variety Otherwise Replace Tilapia with other white fleshed fish such as Alaskan Pollock, Cod, Halibut etc. Wild fish is always better than farmed .......................#holistichealth #women40plus #womenempowerment #menopause #holisticnutrition #eatfish #tilapia #foodbloggers
Emotional Eating has been my best friend Yes that's right, I the Nutritionist grew up eating my Emotions and even today if I don't watch it I can fall into the trap very easily! Overcoming Emotional eating takes patience, time, work and love and if this is your story you can start by being aware of your Emotional Triggers...... Think about situations, places, or feelings that make you reach for the comfort of food? These can be negative emotions or positive situations such as rewarding yourself for achieving a goal or celebrating a happy event. Here are some common triggers.... 1) Are you a stress eater? Do you crave salty or sweet foods under stress? 2) Stifling your emotions? Is Eating a way to temporarily silence or stifle anger, fear, sadness, anxiety, loneliness, resentment, frustration or shame? 3) I am bored Do you eat to stay busy or to relieve boredom, or to fill a void in your life? 4) Peer pressure? Do your friends/ family encourage you to overeat in social gatherings? And you just o go along with it because its easier than being different? If you answered YES to all of the above, don’t be disheartened. I can tell you with 100% conviction that every single woman I know is either battling 1 or more of these triggers right now or has encountered them at some point in her life for an extended period of time. The important thing is to be aware and then take action so you can overcome it. Ready to take action? Want to work on this in 2021?...DM me ........... #emotionaleating #emotionalfood #holistichealth #holistichealing #comfortfoods #women50plus #women40 #womenempowerment #emotionaltriggers #loveyourself
Do you have Joint Pain? Do you regularly consume Nightshade Vegetables? Nightshade Vegetables consist of Tomatoes, Peppers, White potatoes, Eggplant and even Okra and whilst these vegetables are packed with some essential nutrients they can cause irritation to people who are sensitive to the Alkaloids in these vegetables.... When I see a client that has an Autoimmune condition, Gut issues, IBD or Arthritis one of the first food groups that I take them off is Nightshades.....and the result almost always is 'pain relief'! If you have Joint pain try eliminating these foods for 3 weeks and see how you feel? Questions? ..................................#holistichealth #holisticnutrition #women50plus #women40plus #womenwitharthritis #womenandarthritis #arthritisrelief #menopausesupport #nightshades
