This customer contacted me looking for an engineered foundation for their quonset/shop. The drawings came with info for a concrete footing, which was quoted ou...t roughly TWICE as much as our screw pile/grade beam system. WEM Engineering reviewed the plan, designed a screw pile/cap and beam system which we installed yesterday. This was marked out, installed, set to height and welded all in about 6 hours. Ground was very firm, little rock. Piles set to support over 20,000 lbs each. And as you can see little to no mess or ground distrubance. Concrete would have taken days, and left a mess!!! Again, this method was less than half the price of the concrete quotes as well.Our piles are 10' deep, well below frost, concrete would not have been. Thanks to John Calliou for the welding, great job!
