Wendy Mills Inspired Life

Tonight I was playing around with some inks on watercolor paper. I'm stepping outside my comfort zone as I am normally very detailed-oriented and like to have a plan. This is the foundation layer of an intuitive piece I was inspired by after browsing Pinterest and plan on incorporating in my high school art class. When this layer dries, I'll start drawing in ink. Also intuitively. Not sure what it will become but I'm excited to find out.

This is the one thing about being a teacher that I have a love/hate relationship with... GRADING! I hate giving up weekends to correct work.... I sometimes get very resentful that my time is never really my time. I have so many hobbies that I'd rather be spending my time on... But if I choose to do what I WANT to do over what I HAVE to do I constantly feel guilty that I'm not more dedicated to my profession. It also takes time away from my family that I'll never get back. However, I also love being in the classroom and trying to inspire the kids. My biggest reward is when a child creates something they didn't think they could. And I love the relationships I have with them. But the "work" after "work" drives me up the wall. Thank goodness for wine.
