Another interesting article about the history of Westchester's postal service, written by Terasa Brown Webb in 1960.It's scanned in two parts as the article was too big for our scanner. Thank you to Brenton Beebe for sharing the late Laura Purdy's scrapbooks with us #WestchesterStation

In my treasure trove of letters my grandmother (Ola Belle Wark) saved there are several written to her from Tressa Webb (Mrs J. Harris Webb) I'm sure many of yo...u here will recognize the name as she was a student of Westchester history, a collector of "gossip", and she wrote articles and obituaries for the newspapers! I am carefully working my way through the letters Tressa wrote- a time capsule of news. In fact- she writes about Westchester's connection to the mystery of Oak Island- Frederick Blair managed to talk many residents at the time to invest in his treasure hunting endeavours!! The photo here is Tressa (right) standing with my Nan, in Tressa's back yard, but behind the house that was next door (I'm told). The roof seen here is that of the Rushton home across Ash brook and the house on that road on the left burned in 2018. It was probably taken early to mid 1960s! See more
