Monday August 31 Dear Parents *Important Update* Unfortunately, we have to close the daycare on Wednesday September 2, Thursday September 3 and Friday September 4. We have 3 staff off work right now, sick. Please be assured your children have not been in contact with any of these staff members. With the new normal of any cold/flu/Covid symptoms children and staff have to stay home, and our staff have followed this guideline, therefore we take this safety precaution very serio...usly. All 3 staff that are off sick, had no symptoms when working and their symptoms presented after being away from the daycare for a minimum of 48 hours. We do not have enough staff to remain open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We understand this is a huge inconvenience for you all, we are very sorry about this and have tried to resolve this issue without closing but we cannot. This closure is only for the daycare 3-5 side, our school age program is able to stay open, so if you have a child on the ‘big kids side’ they are still able to attend. Take Care Mark, Sinead, Hailey, Carol, Kendra, Becky

COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS Dear Parents/Guardians: I would like to ensure parents that we are taking any precautions we can to reduce the risk of spreading Covid 19 within our childcare centre. We are receiving new info week to week and will change our protocols if necessary. I want to let all families know what current policies and procedures we have put into effect. - For the time being we are limiting the capacity of our 3-5 centre at 12 children. - Currently we ask parents ...to not enter the childcare centre and all pickups/drop-offs are to be done outside. - Parents and staff are asked to maintain physical distancing at all times. - The window by the front door will be open at all times, so a parent can let a worker know they are there. - Staff will be responsible to sign in/out all the children. - Shoes are to be taken off outside and put on the shoe rack. - Backpacks and lunches can be brought in by the children and put into their cubby inside. - Children will be asked to was their hands immediately. - Children are being encouraged to wash their hands for at least 30 seconds. - No bare feet is allowed inside the centre. - Parents are to send there child with a water bottle that will remain at the centre. We will wash and sanitize the water bottle each day. - No toys, stuffed animals, blankets etc are to be brought from home to the daycare. - At pickup parents are asked to remain outside and we will bring your child and their belongings to you. - Currently staff and children are using different bathrooms. - At nap time we are spreading the children out as far away from one another. - Children are laying head to foot and foot to head for nap time. - All mats are being disinfected right after being used. - Only field trips the children will be taking, will be within walking distance. - Commonly touched surfaces are being sanitized a minimum of 3 times a day, or more if deemed necessary. - Once a child has used a toy it is being put in a dirty bin and will not be reused until the toy has been disinfected. - Playdough, sensory bins, water tables, sand tables etc are not being shared between children. - We have provided children with their own labelled play dough, slime and sensory bin that they can only use. We are constantly in touch with Childcare Licensing and MCFD in regards to any changes we need to make. Changes in our practices or policies could be made at See more
