To all clients of Wescan Marine and sports fisherman on the coast of BC We do not agree with the decisions made from our ( Honorable Jonathan Wilkinson ) . The lack of knowledge and management we have seen over the years from farmed fishing, First Nations fishing, commercial, sport, industry on our coastal waters has resulted to this? Really? -Fish farms destroy our natural habitat and they are fine... -First nations beach sane all species in their spawning beds and sell them for profit. Also using american made marine equipment to harvest their ceremonial fish that go to market and thats fine -The Orca whales are on the rise. They eat alot more than Chinook salmon. They have come back since they stole whales for human entertainment years ago. That was fine. what a nightmare that was. -BC put no effort into using all the money ( billions ) from the sport fishing industry to create more stocks for a healthy system and thats fine -They want to let people fish winter chinook even in the new regulations , when if anything thats the time of year to conserve. That and the spawning grounds and thats fine -They allow pest populations that eat chinook, smolts, and baitfish flourish that are an over balance for the eco system ( seals, sea lions, and certain pest ground fish ) and thats fine -They allow coal dust from Pattison's coal port spill toxic material into the straight of georgia on a daily basis and thats fine -They wait until everyone buys their new license and salmon tags for the year before they tell everyone they are shutting sport fishing down and thats fine There are many other topics however these are the top on my list In my mind everyone who pays taxes and supports our economy in BC should have equal rights. Not only that, we should have a say or a vote. I think we need smarter people who have the ability to manage our coast managing this coast. The decision will put thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions gone from bc economy. Conservation is needed and I think the sports fisherman are all for conservation as we stand at 3 percent of the take. However the decisions made were absolutely not the best.
