Stop making these mistakes with #ICBC claims. If you know someone who's in the middle of a claim, make sure to show them this article. #ICBCMistakes

You think you didn’t like ICBC before? The NDP and David Eby have given ICBC unfettered power to stick it to injured victims of car crashes and clearly, ICBC is taking complete advantage of their unfettered power. Last Friday, they introduced an aggressive, take it or leave it, go to Court policy. This is on top of capping many brain injury and chronic pain cases at $5,500 (not a typo) for potentially life long suffering if you are in an accident after April 1. I sure hope you don’t get in a car crash and suffer injury!!!!

Distracted Driving Myths and Truths Everyone knows that distracted driving, whether texting or talking on a handheld device or for that matter, eating, talking, setting your radio, etc... increases the chances of a crash. Distracted driving should be frowned on and not condoned. That is the truth. The myth is ICBC suggesting they have all sorts of data proving distracted driving is causing death and injuries. In my 25 plus year practice as a lawyer in the area of ICBC injury ...claims and having seen tens of thousands of cases I have never once seen a case where it has been conclusively proven someone using a cell phone caused an accident. Of course, we all know that dozens and dozens of accidents daily in BC are caused by distracted drivers. That is common sense. However, for ICBC to come up with data to support the obvious is the myth. Let us not mislead the public. Don't publish stats that are made up. We all know that using a cell phone while driving is dangerous and downright stupid. No stats exist to prove the obvious as who admits to distracted driving after a crash?

#Whiplash is one of the most common injuries sustained in car accidents. If you were recently in an accident then this will be worth the read. #ICBC
