Folks, during these trying times we understand it is difficult to keep up with the rules and regulations that have resulted from COVID-19. To insure we can continue to serve our customers in a safe and friendly manner here is a reminder of what we need to do: 1. As you enter West Gate please have your mask on. Please take a moment to fill out your contact info in our guest book for tracing purposes, which will be placed by the door. 2. Please sanitize your hands upon entry ...with the provided sanitizer. 3. Once seated at the bar (4 person maximum for bar seating) or at a table, you can remove your mask. Please note you cannot pull extra chairs up to the bar. If you are moving about, going to the bathrooms, or standing, your mask must be used. Masks can only be removed if seated, no exceptions. 4. We will be asking patrons to bring used glasses and bottles up to the bar to place into a provided bin to help decrease the spread of germs. We understand these rules aren’t always ideal, but it beats the alternative of a potential outbreak, resulting in closing up shop and locking down. Our friendly staff will be reminding patrons of the procedures if necessary and individuals who refuse to cooperate will be refused service and asked to leave the bar. Please be respectful as they are just doing their job and trying to keep everyone as safe as possible. We thank everyone for their cooperation and we wish you all a safe and happy holiday! As you all know by now, the province of Newfoundland has announced that mask wearing in public spaces is now mandatory. This includes West Gate, where we are still happy to serve you and do our best to embrace this ‘new normal,' just while wearing a mask! Please note the following changes to accommodate the new regulations: - Mask wearing is mandatory upon entering the bar for both staff and patrons. You will not be allowed to enter unless you are wearing a mask. Once you ar...e seated, you will be allowed to remove your mask and enjoy your beverage. This means those who are seated can remove their masks, but those who are standing up must keep their masks on at all times, drinks or not. - If you are ordering a drink or going to the bathroom, masks must be worn. - Capacity will be lower than normal as we accommodate the changes. Please be patient if you have to wait to get in, as we are doing our best to make our workspace safe for both our employees and our customers. - There will be minimal bar space, so if you are not seated at a stool or ordering a drink at the bar, you will be unable to occupy the bar top. We recommend you bring in your own non-medical mask, however, we will have disposable masks available at the door for $1.00 each in case you forget yours at home! We please ask that you abide by all the rules and regulations and be kind to the staff and other customers as we all adjust to the changing times. If you have any questions, just ask and we’ll be happy to answer them the best we can. Lastly, we want to say thank you to all of our loyal customers who have been so supportive during these times.
