Shots Fired at Vehicle in Driveway West Division is investigating after multiple shots were fired at an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway of a south Ajax home. No injuries were reported. On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at approximately 12:09 a.m., West Division officers were dispatched to a residence on Bolland Crescent in south Ajax regarding multiple gunshots being heard. Officers arrived and discovered that an unoccupied white Ford Fusion, parked in the driveway of... a residence, had been struck with multiple bullets. Multiple shell casings were located at the scene. The people inside the residence were not injured. A review of security footage from the area showed the gunshots came from inside a dark-coloured SUV-style vehicle, which was driving westbound on Bolland at approximately 12:04 a.m. Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact A/Det. Father Stabbed by Son in Pickering A 57-year-old Scugog male was located with serious injuries after stabbing in a Pickering residence Monday after midnight. On Monday, November 16, 2020, at approximately 12:55 a.m., members of West Division were called to a residence near Altona Road and Taunton Road in Pickering for a stabbing call. Officers located the homeowner with serious injuries. Officers rendered first aid until Durham Paramedics arrived. The male was rushed to a To...ronto Trauma Center. The suspect, who is the victims son, fled the scene and was arrested this afternoon in Bradford with the assistance of South Simcoe Police Service. The 30-year-old male from Bradford is charged with: Attempt Murder; Aggravated Assault; Uttering Threats; Break and Enter; Mischief; Possess Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. Investigators are Looking into Two Separate Animal Abuse Cases Police are looking for any information that would assist in two separate cases involving dogs that were located in poor health in North Clarington. On October 3, 2020, Clarington Animal Services located a stray dog near Concession Road 10 and Mosport Road in Bowmanville. The dog described as a Pitbull Terrier mix was extremely emaciated and taken to a veterinary office in Newcastle. The dog passed away several da...ys later due to health conditions. On October 13, 2020 around midnight, a citizen located a female Pitbull Terrier mix dog which was black and white in color. The dog was located in extremely poor health near Concession Road 9 and Enfield Road in Clarington. The dog was taken to a local Veterinary clinic to get medical attention. The dog is now recovering. Investigators are working with the Provincial Animal Welfare Services and an investigation is underway to locate the owners of the dogs or anyone who may have information on this investigation. Drug Investigation Results in Two Persons Charged An investigation into street level drugs in Ajax has led to two arrests, a search warrant resulted in the seizure of over $43,000 in drugs and cash. Investigators from the West Division Community Response Unit began an investigation, focusing on street-level drug transactions in Ajax. The investigation lead to the identification of an address in Ajax. On Saturday, November 21, 2020, a search warrant was executed on Clark Road ...in Ajax. Two people are facing charges and officers seized about $35,000 in crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl and approximately $8,000 in Canadian currency. Tyler PALNEAU, age 26 and Shannon SAUVE, age 29, both of Clark Road in Ajax are charged with: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3. PALNEAU was also charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance. They were both held for bail hearings. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Cst. Emma Ferreira, 13, and Lily Erner, 13, were last seen together on Monday, November 2, 2020, at 9:50 a.m., in the Lawrence Avenue East and Bennett Road area. Emma Ferriera is described as 5'7", 120 lbs., with a slim build, long wavy dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. She was wearing a black 'Bench' jacket, grey hoodie, black jeans, and a black toque. She is believed to be carrying a grey backpack. Lily Erner is described as 5'1", 100 lbs., with a slim build, light brown or blonde shoulder-length wavy hair, and green eyes. She was wearing a rose gold puffy jacket, black shirt, black pants, and a black backpack. Police are concerned for their safety. Male Caught Driving with 22 Prohibition Orders A 43-year-old male on parole with 22 prohibition orders to not drive has been arrested for operating a motor vehicle. On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at approximately 5:20 p.m., police received information about an orange Corvette driving erratically on Taunton Road in Oshawa. Later, an officer from Central West Division observed the vehicle at a high rate of speed westbound on Highway 2 at Garrard Road in Whitby. The vehicle did ...not stop at the red light and the vehicle was not pursued due to safety concerns. Further investigation identified the driver as Adam SIMEUNOVICH, age 43, the subject of 22 drive disqualifications and a federal parolee. On the evening of Wednesday, November 11, 2020, the male was located getting out of a cab while returning to a residence in Lindsay. He was arrested by members of the DRPS Offender Management Unit, without incident. He is charged with: Operation While Prohibited x22; Dangerous Operation and Drive Motor Vehicle While Suspended. He was held for a bail hearing. As a result, Stephen BALL, age 61, of Whitby was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography and Luring a Child. On October 29, 2020, the 18-year-old male suspect (JANES) turned himself in at a police station in Pickering. Police have also arrested a 30-year-old suspect (ELANSOORIYANATHAN) on October 22, 2020. ... Brett JANES, age 18, of Rainy Day Drive in Pickering has been charged with: Trafficking in Person by Recruiting; Material Benefit Trafficking in Person; Material Benefit from Sexual Services; Procuring Exercise Control; Advertising Sexual Services and Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration. Toronto Man Charged with Human Trafficking A Toronto man has been charged with human trafficking offences and investigators are attempting to confirm there are no other victims. On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, members of the DRPS Human Trafficking Unit were conducting a proactive initiative and located a 19-year-old female victim being forced to work in the sex trade and all of her money was being taken. The victim had met the accused on a dating app. She was brought to vario...us hotels in Ontario. Investigators located the suspect on scene; however, he fled on foot. On Thursday, November 19, 2020, the male was located and arrested without incident at Toronto Pearson Airport. The accused was attempting to flee to another province with the victim. The accused has ties to Hamilton, Barrie, Toronto, and Peel Region. Sydney BUNKUNA, age 22 of Toronto, is charged with: Trafficking Person Over 18, Material benefit from Trafficking in Person over 18, Procuring-Recruit person to provide sexual services, Procuring-Exercise Control, Obtain Sexual Services for Consideration, Advertising Sexual Services and Material Benefit from Sexual Services. ARREST MADE IN NEWMARKET SEXUAL ASSAULT Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 33-year-old man in an ongoing sexual assault investigation in the Town of Newmarket. In September 2020, a 24-year-old female victim came forward to report an incident of sexual assault. The victim told investigators that the man contacted her through Facebook posing as a photographer. He offered to take free photos of her to help build ...a modelling portfolio. During the photoshoot, he sexually assaulted her. On October 15, 2020, the suspect was arrested and charged with sexual assault. Investigators are releasing an image of the accused to ensure there are no additional victims or witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to come forward. Charged: Sanoop VADUKOOT, 33, Town of New Tecumseth Charge: Sexual Assault The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on January 26, 2021. A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. Megan HARDY, age 39, of Oshawa was seen leaving her residence near Pentland Avenue and Ritson Road North in Oshawa on Friday, November 20, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Police and her family are concerned for her wellbeing. ... HARDY was observed getting on a GO Transit train. She was last seen approximately 4:00 p.m. at Front Street and Bay Street near the Union Station in Toronto. Megan HARDY is described as female, white, 5'2" tall, slim build, brown hair, blue eyes. Man Wanted For Mischief Over $5000, Bloor Street East and Ted Rogers Way, Joshua Michael Gannon, 42 Unit: 51 Division Phone: 416-808-5100 Case #: 2020-2125598... The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a man wanted in a mischief over $5000 investigation. On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at approximately 4 a.m., police began a mischief over $5000 investigation in the Bloor Street East and Ted Rogers Way area. It is alleged that: - at approximately 4 a.m., a man was loitering on the grounds of a church - he gathered rocks and projectiles from the ground and proceeded to break numerous large stain glass windows on the church - he then fled the scene on foot - the damage is estimated at over $20,000. The suspect has been identified as Joshua Michael Gannon, 42, of no fixed address. He is wanted for: 1. Mischief Over $5000 He is described as Indigenous, 5’10", 160 lbs, black hair in a pony tail, long beard, and dark clothing. There is no image available at this time. Client Account Takeover Results in Charges A 21-year-old Toronto male is facing fraud-related charges after impersonating a Durham resident and draining over $45,000 from their bank account. Investigators from the Financial Crimes Unit initiated an investigation in March, 2020 after receiving information that a suspect impersonated a Durham resident. The suspect gained access to the victim's bank account and withdrew over $45,000 over the span of two days. In January 2020, t...he suspect attended a CIBC branch in Brampton, used counterfeit identification in the name of a Whitby resident and was able to obtain a replacement debit card, giving him access to the client's bank accounts. In the following days, the suspect was able to obtain a bank draft in the amount of $40,000 and completed multiple cash withdrawals at ATMs, totaling $5,600. The accused then used private financial services to convert the bank draft and wired the funds into an account in China. Yijie XU, age 21, of Toronto is charged with: Fraud over $5,000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000; Identity Theft; Identity Fraud and Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card. Suspect Wanted after Several Suspicious Package Incidents Investigators are asking the public to help identify a suspect after several incidents of suspicious packages being left at two separate businesses in Oshawa. On Sunday, October 25, 2020, at approximately 8:15 a.m., members of Central East Division were called to Pantry Convenience on Park Road North in Oshawa for a suspicious package found at the business. The item was investigated by our Explosives Disposal Unit and... it was detonated and rendered safe. The item was confirmed to be an incendiary device. The suspect was captured on video surveillance fleeing on foot. On Thursday, October 1, 2020, at approximately 8:20 a.m., police responded to a suspicious package call at the Taunton Convenience store on Taunton Road East in Oshawa after an incendiary device was located. The victim in this case attempted to move the item and it burst into flames. No injuries were reported and officers seized the evidence and video surveillance. There were three prior minor incidents targeting this store that were never reported to police. The suspect wore a mask during these incidents. Police are releasing an image of the suspect from Saturday's incident and he is believed to be involved in the Taunton Road incidents. Police are also releasing video surveillance of the incident on October 1, 2020, involving a female employee which shows the device bursting into flames. The suspect is described as male, white, he wore all black clothing and white shoes. In the first incident he wore similar clothing, but with black shoes with white around the outer sole. Indecent Act in Oshawa Investigators are trying to identify a male who exposed himself to a 15-year-old female in Oshawa while she was coming home from school. On Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at approximately 1:15 p.m., a 15-year-old female high school student got off the bus at Stevenson Road and King Street West near the Oshawa Centre. She walked southbound and went through the parking lot where the TD Bank and Popeye's is located. She noticed a black Ford SUV following her an...d as the vehicle approached, the lone male inside asked for directions. The vehicle continued to follow her as she walked away and the male suspect invited her to enter the car. She was close enough at this time to see the male had exposed himself. The female then ran away and called 911. Officers attended the area and searched, but no arrests were made. The suspect is described as a male, in his late 20's, with olive skin, brown hair, and a medium build. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Oshawa Father Charged in Infant's Homicide A father has been charged in the 2019 death of his infant son. On Sunday, April 21, 2019, a four-month-old child was transported to hospital with unexplained injuries. Police were called to investigate. Tragically, the infant succumbed to his injuries days later. ... After a lengthy investigation, which included working closely with the Coroner's Office to determine the cause of death, officers arrested the infant's father last night. He was held for a bail hearing. The infant's name is being withheld. Tristan Daniel PIPER, age 24 of Oshawa, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. This death is now recorded as the 8th Homicide investigated by the DRPS in 2019. Anyone with new information is asked to contact Det.
