Some of you may know the Jordan/Kerr-Upal family as members of the Ottawa horse community before they moved to B.C. a number of years ago. An unfortunate accident this summer has had life-alterning consequences for John, Manjit, and their daughters, Ila and Maya. Westar Farms offer for sale: Miss Darcy, 11 year old mare .90 m jumper/Children's Hunter Missa Darcy (Stella) is ready to introduce her next rider to the jumper ring. She was such a good partner to her most recent rider, who came off a Medium pony in 2017, from the .75 m jumper in 2018 to the 1.0 m division in 2020, that her rider is now ready to move up to the next level.... In 2019 she qualified for, and pinned at the Ontario Trillium Championships in the .90 m Jumper and the Children's Hunter. In 2020, she competed in the .90 m and 1.0 m Jumper at the WCP summer series. Stella has a great temperament and is a pleasure to work around at home and at the shows. Our final Westar Thanksgiving appreciation is the biggest - to our staff who are the heart and soul of Westar. Some were sidelined early on before being able to come back to an adjusted schedule and others worked double duty to help us keep up. * Thanks to Karen Steadman who has been with us, caring for the horses, for more than 30 years and Brian Fisher, with us for 10 years, keeping the machinery in tune and as a master of grass mowing. * Thanks to Lindsey Murray who has b...een a Westar Family member for 5 or 6 years but only recently joined our staff and she is already an integral part of the team. * Mark & Luke McKessock put in many hours helping with barn chores until they felt we could manage on our own, and then were able to return to their own home or new home (yes, they are that old now!) * Last and by no means, least - thanks to Stephanie Wark who has toiled alongside us with only a handful of days off since March. Her drive, positive outlook and devotion to the horses and the farm inspires us and all the Westar students. Thanks to each of you! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

We'd like to thank the show officials, staff and volunteers who worked hard to make this year's horse shows a success. Using two new paperless show systems, one for the Hunter Jumper shows and one for the Dressage shows, was like crossing into a new frontier with the associated learning curve, though the timing was perfect for the current contactless times. Thanks to everyone for adapting! Due to weather forecast for Saturday Westar Farms Development Show 2 is moved to Sunday. Please let us know whether you can make it or not. If not, well cancel your entry (no cancellation fee). If you want to substitute or add new entries, no late fee will be charged as long as entries are in by noon Saturday.

Thanks to all who joined us for a fantastic show day on Saturday! Everyone did a great job adhering to the protocols and being on time, allowing the show to stay right on schedule all day and still allow for plenty of fun! What a great way to start the show season at Westar! Thanks also to our show secretary, Kelsey Butler for customizing the ribbon bags for every rider!

Tentative warm-up and class times can now be found on our website: https://westarfarms.ca/competitions/#development All times listed - Flat warm-up, Jumping war...m-up and Class start times are for the group of 4 riders and not necessarily an order of go. Please listen to the announcements on show day as to timing. If the show starts to run considerably slower or faster, you will be notified by text.

Please review the Show Procedures and Site Map and be sure to have your waiver and essential personnel (coach, groom, 1 parent for juniors) listed with covid at...testation forms submitted by Thursday. Entry fees are due and payable by etransfer (see prize list) As of this time, we dont have sufficient numbers to warrant a second show day. If that remains the case, the show ring will be available all day Sunday for schooling along with all other rings.

Please note: The 20"/23" Junior division will be split into 2 or 3 flights. We will be sending out information about arrival times and procedures for helping... the show day run smoothly. Please send us the size of trailer you will be bringing, plus how many cars will be with you as parking areas will be assigned for each barn or individual. As previously posted, the Saturday show is full and entries are closed. We have started a waiting list. If there is enough interest we will consider running a second show day on Sunday. If you are are hoping to enter please PM or email today with the number of riders and division you are hoping to enter. If we do run a second show day there there would be no late fee for entering today or tomorrow (Wed.) by noon and riders entered Sat. would have the option to switch their entry to Sunday. The mini-clinic for Sunday is now full. The Development Hunter ring will be open Monday afternoon and then closed until Thursday, Aug. 20th. All other rings (Grand Prix, Hunter Derby and Dressage) are open until Thursday, Aug. 13th and then closed until Thurs. Aug. 20th. Contact us to book a time slot for you or your group.

Two spaces available for .90 to 1.0 m jumper mini-clinic with Jeff this Sunday at noon. Session will be 1.5 hrs (max 5 riders) $150 per rider (hst incl). The show rings are green again (!) and open for schooling through the summer and fall. Contact us to book for yourself or a group from your barn (max. 5 horses per ring at a time).
