What a year 2020 threw us some curve balls, taught us how to pivot, and most importantly, showed us the amazing power of community in times of challenge. It brought our team closer together, helped us create some memorable connections with our customers, and gave us some (much needed) time to relax. ... Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this year! We’re so excited to start 2021 with some fresh new ideas, many lessons learned and of course some exciting plans for our third year in business! Stay tuned for an exciting announcement later this month

Something a little different This custom mirror piece was the first of it’s kind in our Island Woodwork workshop. Our woodworker Hans had a lot of fun bringing this piece to life for one of our very creative customers! Though our love for making our cribbage boards is strong, we can’t help but jump on the challenge of a new project like this one!

Where do we get our wood from? Anywhere and everywhere! From friends or family getting rid of old furniture to a neighbour trimming some branches off their arbutus tree, we will take anything we can get our hands on. ... Our cribbage boards are made from hard woods and a majority of our shelves and home decor are made from pallet wood (like this one). Though we are thrifty with our materials, the quality of our wood is one of our top priorities as we want our pieces to last you a lifetime. With many years of experience on his tool belt, our woodworker carefully selects our wood based on its durability and his belief that it will match our quality standards. Check out more of our recycled-wood-pieces on our website www.islandwoodwork.ca
